Monica is a very caring prof who is always willing to help students during her office hours. There are no exams and the tests are all multiple choice/fill in the blank, easy A 1st yr. The group projects are fun even though lectures can be a bit boring. Made some of my greatest friends in this class and am continuing to take Italian because of them!

Dr Monica has a very monotone voice, speaking very quietly. No offense to her, but she seems very unenthusiastic. You could pass IT101 with something like a 75 if you're determined. I do not recommend you continue on to the next level. On the bright side, she is very patient with students, replies to emails quickly, and is overall nice.

She reads the textbook to you which can get kind of boring when you're in a lecture for 3 hours straight. Problem is, you need to go to class to get marks.

Although the class moves very quickly, you do learn a lot every class. Once an idea is taught, you are expected to go over it a lot alone, but if you do the homework, and participate in class, it's not terribly difficult to learn. Very funny and nice woman. You have to put in the work to get good marks

I do not say this lightly, because I tend to try to empathize with professors' jobs, but she creates an extremely negative class atmosphere that makes students feel unwelcome in the class. She seem checked out overall and like she would rather be anywhere else. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this prof.

Worst prof you can ever imagine on having, teaches the class like you should be fluent already. Will literally judge you if you pronounce one word wrong. If you have the choice, DO NOT TAKE.

Monica Stellin ruined my group presentation by rudely interrupting, she is disorganized and canceled class half an hour before the class on many occasions which is unfair considering I live off campus. She was rude when I asked a question and there was no point going to class.

I had no problems with this class... but only because I AM ITALIAN. For everyone else: Dr stellin is so unclear with everything, speaks at such a low volume and is usually in a bad mood. She gives a dirty look when you ask a question too. Classes were pointless to attend to b e honest.

A terrible prof with absolutely no interest in teaching. Cancelled class on several occasions, even going so far as to changing dates of tests. Constantly frazzled, never emailed back to answer questions. I was not aware of my mark going into anything and never received any work back.

While the lectures may be a little dry, her Powerpoint presentations are very well put together and informative ... and she doesn't literally READ from them like a certain other prof *cough cough* Very sincere lady and always willing to help you out ... approachable and not intimidating. Very personable. Knows what she's talking about.
