Amazing Professor! This was my first time taking a class with him, and I enjoyed it. There was a lot of reading required for the class so make sure to keep up with the readings, because he will call on you randomly. Also be on time he dislikes it when people show up late.

One of the best professors I have ever taken. You have to come to class and participate if you want to do well on the Essays and take home exams. Hates tardiness so show up on time or be prepared to be called out on it.

Great guy. Very approachable. Everything ties back to theory. Tough-ish grader. Read, show up regularly, and contribute you'll be fine.

LOVE this professor. He cares about what he does and you need to put the work in to get an A in the class. the only professor I know that cares about what goes outside of the classroom as well. Material is difficult but he will guide you as much as you need.

Very dynamic and intriguing personality, I swear he looks exactly like Alan Rickman which is really cool. Fantastic teacher, embraces a unique dry sense of humor and a very courteous Professor two. Always challenges you to think and has fascinating views. Great choices for reading- Stuart Mill and Walt Whitman especially. Definitely recommend.

Awesome mind and GREAT lectures! This is a philosophy class and even if you're not into it, he explains things very well. If you do enjoy philosophy it's even more enjoyable but is still dense material. The class grade is completely dependent on TA grading however, a bit frustrating, but he is very open to questions on and review of grades.

Political theory may not seem like an interesting discipline, but this man makes it all worth it. He's a phenomenal lecturer and keeps you engaged for most, if not all of the time. No textbook, all reading is on Blackboard. Midterm and final (essay writing), no attendance (but go to class , it'll help you more than hurt you like in other classes)

Tough class. Be prepared to read the book and then read it again and once more for good measure. At some point between the readings and the lectures and the office hours you may make sense of it all.

School is the epitome of what a professor should strive to be. He's demanding, because he wants you to think about things. He doesn't look to change your views, but we seeks his students to explore their thoughts liekt they otherwise wouldnt, an extreme mental exercise of sorts. He's extremely approachable, and lives for the material he's teaching.

There are professors, then there are professors. Dr. Schoolman is a God among faculty. He knows the material, he has an amazing command of issues, and forces you to think critically about issues. An amazing guy and everyone should take at least one class from this mental giant.

If you're into theory take the class, if you're not, be weary. It's not as hard as it originally seems, you can pass with only listening to the lectures if you have some interest. Information will be dry otherwise. Schoolman is cool as hell tho!

If you have a GENUINE interest in polysci take a course by him. Very good at working through really complicated theoretical frameworks for students. Taking this course helped me look a democracy in a very different way. The reading is pretty dense, but is very good for enhancing reading comprehension and rhetorical analysis.
