Comment:
Dr. Yeager's class is tough, but I took a lot from the class. There's lot of materials covered in this class, and I felt pretty comfortable with everything he went over except the poetry (which is my personal weakness). His quizzes and paper have a clear rubric, and he's a fair (but tough) grader. Make sure you do the readings and show up.

Dr. Yeager is one of the more challenging English professors at Chapman but he is also one of the kindest most supportive and knowledgeable people you will ever meet. If you're an English major, or just interested in learning about literature, then I HIGHLY recommend taking one of his courses!

This is definitely not an easy A, but you'll learn a lot because of the way Dr. Yeager challenges and pushes his students. He is very enthusiastic, and he pours so much energy into his lectures. I definitely didn't expect to like the class since it isn't my favorite era of literature, but I found it to be incredibly rewarding.

Dr. Yeager is so incredibly sweet, funny, and intelligent. He is probably the best professor I've had so far. He truly cares about his students, and his lectures are always very informational. The stories you read in his class are all well selected. He's a hard grader but gives excellent feed back! (His outfits are always color coordinated, love!

You will have to work for your grade in this class. Yeager is very kind and VERY energetic (the man has more energy than I will ever have), but he expects a lot out of his students. He also crams too much in the syllabus, and we fell behind a lot. That being said, I did learn a lot in the class. The content and lectures are pretty interesting!

Professor Yeager is very animated and so funny! There is always homework, but if you don't do it one day, it's not going to screw you over. There are quizzes every two weeks and they are one essay about what you've been reading. He's very helpful and understanding, but you should attend class.

So much fun to be in a class with. He's super passionate about everything to do with literature and brings fun facts in every day. Really opened my eyes to a lot of cool stuff in the works we read in his lectures, but the lectures can get dry or long sometimes.

If you are an English major, then take 236 with Dr. Yeager. He's really enthusiastic and you can tell he is passionate about teaching. If you are not an English major, avoid this class!! It's about 300 pages a week of the most dense literature you will ever read. If you don't have an interest in lit then don't take it. Way too difficult.

VERY DIFFICULT PROFESSOR. So much reading that there's just no way you can reasonably expect to read it and juggle other classes/a life. He's a pretty cool guy, though. He gets very into his lectures and introduces interesting concepts/ideas from reading. Don't expect an A, and know you will work your ass off for a B, but do expect to learn a lot.

Prof Yeager is one of the most enthusiastic instructors at Chapman. This class is a requirement for English majors and is probably the toughest one of all the core courses. Reading assignments are 250+ pages each week, so be prepared; papers are graded constructively and thoroughly. Yeager is a snappy dresser and his belt always matches his shoes.

Hilarious, quirky guy. Keeps students really interested in the books, always very upbeat and excited. Normally about 200-300pgs of reading a week, and bi-weekly quizzes... lectures are incredibly helpful and informative. Very flexible, very nice, but you'll still have to work hard!

His classes are not easy, but he is very nice and willing to help. The tests are very difficult. He expects you to remember a lot of info, so you have to study for the exams. Keep all of your quizzes and study them before the tests. And you have to do ALL of the reading, especially for GLBT Lit, because there are no sparknotes for these books.

to the person who said yeager is monotone...are you kidding??! i've had him for 3 classes and he's bouncing off the walls during lectures and talking 1,000 miles a minute. he starts sweating out of pure excitement. he's also funny and really fair in grading but he does expect students to put in legitimate effort. i love him =]

AMAZING teacher. He demands a lot of work, but it's all work that pays off. There's A LOT of reading to do(300pg novel per week generally)...but its great material. Class is heavy on discussion, but he'll show you aspects of the works that you'd never notice. Grades fair, but try to meet with him for clarity.

Be prepared to have the hardest semester of your life if you take this guy. He's demanding and tough, assigning multiple books, giving weekly quizzes, and grading strictly on essays and tests. He lectures in a monotone voice, which makes it hard to stay interested. I know it's grad school and enjoy a good challenge, but this is ridiculous.
