Honestly the worst global class at Elon. Her tests are way too long and the info is so vague that studying is nearly impossible. The class is honestly painful to get through because she drowns on and on about stuff no one cares about. The topics are boring and the work load is ridiculous. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Dr. Harris is a really nice lady, but her Global Experience class is HARD. You definitely have a lot of work, several tests and papers, but it's all interesting. I had this class at 8 am which I do not recommend, but if I had had it later in the day when I was more awake, I definitely think I would have enjoyed it more.

Ok; So I am a world issues dork and I was interested in the topics of the class. But, Her teaching style is not condusive to learning. Period. I think just about every aspect of the class was more than awful. The major project was, for lack of a better word, ridiculous. I wanted to cry everyday. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.

If you value your life do not take this class, their is excessive reading, she actually thinks that you care at 8am and is completely obsessed with the sound of her own voice. Oh and the project; you pretty much have to solve a major social problem, and to top it off she'll wait till the last second to torpedo you action plan. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. We had 5 times as much work as your friends--a chapter of reading and a page summarizing it EVERY CLASS. This is in addition to the project from hell. her "quizzes" consist of about 8-15 questions that you have to write a half of a page for each. did i mention you talk about the same thing all year? 3rd world countries. bleh

This is quite possibly the worst global class available at Elon. The work load is absolutely ridiculous, the quizzes are hard, and I'm pretty sure the final is going to kick my butt. Oh, and don't forget the project from Hell. It takes all semester and causes ridiculous amounts of stress. DO NOT TAKE NANCY HARRIS FOR GLOBAL!!!

This class makes me want to kill myself. Then come back to life so I can kill myself again. No other global classes have this much work, she acts like its SOOO IMPORTANT and that we have no other classes. Quizzes are terrible and the semester project from hell just never ever ends. Honestly, it was a ridiculous amount of work for a global class.

Dear god I dreaded this class. I'm sure she's great if you're biology- or even science-oriented, but as for me, I couldn't hate her take on global issues more! At 8 AM stomaching her overblown half-the-semester projects was difficult. Quizzes = difficult to do well on.

Comment:

Take good notes in class. Most everything on tests comes directly from what she writes up on the board. I really liked her teaching style, she does not play favorites like some of the other professors in biology. Just show up, and take notes, and it will not be bad at all. 2nd favorite professor there!

Class is very interesting and you learn alot but she is very very tough. If you take this class be prepared for lots of work. Lots of papers and hard tests. She is very liberal! Dont take this class if you want an easy Global Class.
