If you're an ILA major then Angie will basically be your mom! She cares about all of her students and she's extremely enthusiastic about young adult literature. She actually taught my ninth grade English teacher, who was the one who made me want to teach, so I guess I have her to thank for my career choice! One more thing: ALWAYS CITE YOUR SOURCES!

Dr. Johnson is a passionate instructor and vested in the success of her students. She tries to make class interesting but the book list for her Great Books class is garbage...3 youth fiction books. Class time is spent in group discussion which does not necessarily go well when people do not do the reading or more important interest low.

She is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable in this subject and I was really excited to learn how to teach Young Adult Literature. Attendance is mandatory, but it will be worth it and you will never be bored.

Wished she taught in more subjects; she is the BEST professor on campus, in the state, EVER. So much fun but can talk about serious topics with respect. Adolescent Lit was the best English class I've ever had, and I wasn't even an ILA major. Lotta writing but worth it. Oh, and did we mention there's SNACK TIME!!!!!

Perhaps I'm simply repeating what has already been said, but Dr. Johnson is an amazing professor. Her attitude is always positive and she genuinely cares about her students. She is the type of teacher all of her ILA students aspire to be. You will work a lot, but you will also learn a lot. Great class, amazing professor.

Dr. Beumer Johnson is a FANTASTIC teacher, the best I have had at WSU. She has tons of great ideas but as she tells us, the bottom line is that, as future teachers, we will be the ones who make the decisions. Thus, her classes are about developing our own personal teaching style and justifying and rationalizing it. Excellent. Highly Recommend.
