She is the most understanding and caring professor that a student could ask for. She really goes through the text so everyone understands the material, nightly short homework assignments to replace the idea of in class quizzes, and provides a study guide for the exams (3 of them). If you do the homework and pay attention in class, you will do well

Had Professor Nester for expository writing during first semester. She is the sweetest and most caring professor, often going out of her way to help students. The class is pretty easy as long as you turn in the papers on time. There are many group projects and peer reviews throughout the semester.

Professor Nester is dedicated to her work and moreover dedicated to her students. While I must admit that CORE 104 was not one of my favorite classes in terms of subject material, Professor Nester made it easier and better to learn by trying to make it more relatable to students my age. She wants all of her students to succeed.

She is a great lady. She is kind of confusing sometimes in terms of what she is asking, but if she sees the blank or confused stares on your face, she will explain, or she will explain if you ask for clarification. She is a very excited person and has a lot of energy so she is really a good choice.

Professor Nester is a very caring person. She wants you to pass. There were 3 major papers but homework every night. The homework basically writes part of your paper so it is best to do it along with the fast that all homework is graded. She provides a great deal of feedback and gives the opportunity to improve on your work.

Professor Nester is amazing! She is super nice and friendly and always helps her students. She tends to have us do group activities and peer reviews in class all the time but they are really helpful towards writing papers. She never gives quizzes and there is no final, just a portfolio of all your papers. It's an easy A if you do the work!

Do not take a class with this woman. I'm trying to write an essay for her now in my second semester of my junior year. It's a core class and it's just as much work as a regular class. She doesn't understand that her class is mandatory and insignificant to everyone's discipline. Everyone in class dreads having picked this senior sem. Stay away.

Dr. Nester is the best!! She is super friendly and very helpful. She is a great writer and really cares about her students. She is very approachable and likes to talks to her students at the beginning of class. I wish I could take her for all of my english classes. Definitely take her courses!

Hard grader, attendance mandatory because she collects the handouts you do in class for the final grade. Alot of busy work in terms of actually doing the papers, but it divides up the paper nicely so its not all in one chunk. You have to work hard to get an A because she's picky.

Some of the stuff she talks about should really not need repeating in an mid-level writing class, but that should not put you off. Your work will be assessed and critiqued to your benefit, just make sure you address criticisms substantively--this professor has very good B.S. detection skills!

Took Nancy for Senior Seminar in Fall 05. Very enjoyable class. The material was interesting and relevant, and though we covered a lot, it was never overwhelming. The class was mostly discussion based, which made the class fly by. Very, very nice lady, and a great teacher.
