Comment:
Nancy Patterson means well, but her carry through fails. She is very scatterbrained, and she leaves everything kind of fuzzy. She is very laid-back about assignments and due dates. You have to do them, but you can take your own spin and time doing some of them. Her personality is not for everyone, I would not take another class with her.

This class consists of a lot of reading and responding to articles. If you show that you are thinking critically, you should do well. The group projects are pretty time consuming, but are very easy to do. It's a pretty interesting class if you want to learn about how school shapes identify.

Overall, I believe she means well, but she is not always very clear when it comes to what is expected in terms of assignments. Often examples she gives do not match what she told you, showed you in class, or even match the templates she provides. Not always the most organized teacher. She is willing to give help and feedback however.

EVERY college needs a teacher like her! SHE is by far the best! She is there for you and wants to see you do the best you can! At times she is hard to understand what she means, loved her class! IF you can take her for all the classes you can! You will not regret it!

Prof Patterson is nice lady. The class is a bit unorganized but she's so flexible it's not a big deal. She takes education (the actual subject) very serious. Show up, do the work, and participate and you'll be fine!

Very nice old lady! But can be an spit fire! She wants you to really think about everything. Her class is fun and easy! but when she tells you to read something just do it! because she hates when students cant do their work. she has to read stories then respond to a blog. Over all if I could have her for alllll of my subjects that would be amazing

She is very disorganized. Likes to talk!! About herself, her PhD, her singing, her garden..the list goes on and on! Her stories go off and have little or no connection to the class discussion, which makes for a boring class. Assignments were fairly easy and she is a generous grader-still not sure if I could sit through another class of hers?!?!?

Horrible professor. Disorganized, not well-informed, not in touch with real world of teaching today, closed-minded. Avoid her classes if at all possible.

This professor is not only closed minded, but very pushy when it comes to her opinions. She is extreamly disorganized. Her power points have mistakes from when she made them 2 years ago, she clearly never takes time to fix them or add to them. She tells you to support your oppinion if you disagree with her, but doesn't support her own. Terrible!

Nice lady (very professor sprout-like for you HP fans out there) but completely disorganized! She did not explain herself very clearly - expectations for assignments etc. She is flexible, almost too flexible. Due dates don't really exist, so for you procrastinators out there, beware! You will have to be careful not to wait until the end bcuz u can

I'll agree that she's a nice lady, but completely disorganized. It's extremely difficult to decipher her objectives for each class, so I didn't get anything from it. Don't take this class if you are a high school teacher, especially English, because you learned all of this in your undergrad. Also, don't buy the books until you need them.

Professor is completely out of touch with the real world of teaching. She is very close-minded and also terribly disorganized. Her standards are low and her due dates are wishy-washy. Just nod and smile and agree in class, and you will have jumped through one more ridiculous education profession hoop.

Oh boy. She's a nice gal. I liked her personally, however her teaching style is VERY disorganized (and I'm SO organized). She loses things, she isn't always coherent and she is very scatterbrained (the whole absentminded professor thing). I got an A but it was the WORST class I have ever suffered through. I will not take her again.

I did not find this class helpful because she is too closed-minded, she contradicts some of what we read, and she seems out of touch with real world writing. Cutesy, creative-writing type exercises just don't cut it when it comes to school writing in the upper grades.
