This professor uses multiple methods to ensure students to get grades below A. She makes unclear and tricky problems on the tests/quizzes, and you will get points off for being not "neat". Simply studying notes and homework for tests/quizzes will not get you an A because the format of those won't be on the quizzes, Projects are tedious and pointles

Comment:

Very nice person, but tricky assignments. You need to remember all the useless definitions and different symbols to get an A. Homework is less than 10% of overall grade(40 out of 450), and extra credits are worth only 20 points. Reachable during office hours.

Comment:

Nancy was always well prepared and very clear with her notes. Having the partial notes that we could print out was extremely helpful. Always got our graded work back within a week. She knows her stuff and is always willing to help.

This is really hard online! I highly recommend taking advantage of her office hours. I wish I had more time for that! She's really nice and interested in helping you. I took this course with nursing, which made it that more difficult. Definitely take advantage of office hours.

Nancy is a great professor and person. I really enjoyed having math classes with her. She was clear about what to expect on exams and taught the subject matter in an easy to understand manner. If you ever have any issue understanding material she is more than happy to help you out. Highly recommend taking any math course with her.

She is a nice woman but at times this course can be a bit dull due to the subject matter (statistics). The course was setup standard, 3 lectures a week, except homework was done online (which is very nice, unlimited tries to get the right answer). My friend's stat course didn't have the online part and he had to write down all the homework by hand.

very clear in lecture and provided helpful notes and outside of class help. Never strayed from material, very to the point and effiecent. Was even able to control some of the students whom were less motivated. Should consider a ban on leather jackets portraying semi-famous characters from American gangster films.

Comment:

Putnam is the best, period. The course was a little dry (statistics) but that's not her fault. She kept me interested and taught me alot. One criticism is that she doesn't mind students being late, even when they are disruptive.

Nancy is indeed a nice person and I generally agree with what everyone else has already said about her. The problem I had, however, was with her method of teaching. 98% of the time, you'll be sitting in class taking notes. While that may be fine for some people, if you prefer a more hands-on and lecture based course, you will be very disappointed.

Nancy likes her job and it shows. She gives very clear directions, which can be rare for a math teacher. She is VERY composed and patient, yet has a very easy-going personality. If anyone gets lower than a B in her class, it's because of laziness. She gives the opportunity for a lot of extra credits to raise grades. She wants students to succeed.

Really good teacher and very friendly and HELPFUL. Do your homework and all the assignments and you'll get an A. I mean, you have to study of course!!! but if you know the assignments and old quizzes you'll do fine on the exam. Do well on the Midterm though since it has 80 points. Take this class, but be sure you have a couple of hours for homework

there's a good amount of homework and a quiz/test every week. she's clear and consistent, and she'll never hesitate to answer any questions you have. she is not known to cancel class EVER. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO MISS ANY CLASSES with her because she's so fast paced.

Comment:

relatively easy if you come every class to get the notes. The notes are all printed out, you just have to fill in the blanks! Provides lots of test practice. One thing though, DO NOT screw up the midterm or final - it could easily throw you to a B even if you've had all As on everything else.
