Dr Stockdale is amazing! I hate history and she made it so interesting. I learned a lot. A lot of reading and papers, but she grades really fairly and is totally open to questions. She'll even read your paper before you turn it in for suggestions. Very knowledgable and she always has a great attitude. Def. take her.

Alot of reading, but Prof Stockdale is very very knowledgable. I was very impressed and she really cares about her subject matter. Not an easy A, but a great class to learn alot of information.

Outstanding professor! A lot of reading is required, however if you do the readings and pay attention to the lectures you will do well. Papers for the class are not difficult. Awesome command of the subject matter.

Her papers are too much! a 5-page paper, followed by a 10-page one!!!! Heck Nah! and class participation is a big chunk of your grade?!! wow, that sucks! however, what's cool is that she's so nice and awesome, very helpful, and their is no final exam in her class! :)

Don't argue with her. Just smile and nod. Don't ask questions in class. Participation = laughing at her jokes. The class was mostly papers, and she said all of mine were awesome. I ended up with an A- in the class. I asked her if we could discuss it and it's been like pulling teeth. Rude, unhelpful, and unclear. For a Gen Ed class? Not worth it.

Good teacher- gets distracted and goes fast sometimes, but overall shes cool. Nice person and good teacher. I would recommend her, but be prepared for a lot of reading!

I must say she was the hardest professor I have ever had but she is great! I did get an A- in the class and had to work very hard to receive it, unlike my other classes where I had recevied an A with little effort. College is supposed to challenge you and this class did. There was an insane amount of readings but at least they were interesting.

I took her for two semesters because she was so great! I had no interest in the middle east coming into her first class and she completely intrigued me with her lectures. Lots of reading but completely worth it- one of my favorite professors. Plus she has a great personality and loves her students.

Very interesting subject. She has way too many books (6), though they are full of interesting information, it gets a little overwhelming towards the end of the semester. Final was essay, without a study guide. Tough essays on tests, just understand the information and you will be fine. Very knowledgable on the subject.

I'm a big history fan so I enjoyed the class. However, she can be difficult on the grading of you essay's and take of for very small things. Is not detailed at all, wants to know the broad ideas, makes studyin a breeze. The books on the side are a pain to read, but she gives you study questions of things too look out for.

Dr. Stockdale is a fantastic person and teacher. She really knows lots about the Modern Middle East. Ther are so many books to read and her midterms and finals are very hard. He grades reaaly hard too. But overall she was great!

There is a tremendous amount of reading for this class. Dr. Stockdale knows her subject well and expects you to know it too. Unfortunatley, she was in a bit of a bad mood this semester which made the classroom experience unpredictable and inconsistant althought still bearable. Feel better!

Nice lady and interested in her field but I am not a fan of an all essay class. Also I think class participation should not count in our final grade.
