By far the worst science professor I've had. She's much worse than Mittler by the way.

Her work is a bit tedious, but it's easily digestible if you paid attention during lectures and if you still don't understand it, her office hours are extremely flexible. By the way, Ignore the past two ratings of her. Those two are in my class, and they do nothing but stare at their phones in class then blame her when they bomb their exams.

Horrible Professor. Goes too fast, handwriting is impossible to read. I was always so so confused in class and I kept having to ask her to clarify every step she wrote on the board. She is also a bit rude when asking her questions

She is totally non-interactive during lectures, she talks at you, not to you, and is condescending when you ask questions. She will say that attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't go to class, you'll miss announcements of quizzes and therefore the quizzes themselves.

Nancy Sullivan is an absolute doll! She made Physics so much better because she knows how terrible Arthur Mittler teaches. She pretty much taught all of her recitation students Physics. Her quizzes are a little difficult later on in the year (quizzes made by Mittler) but if you pay attention in her class you will do fine - she does probs. in class.

She tries to make the best of Professor Mittler and she deserves an award for it. He is the reason the Physics department is in shambles, but she tries her best to give you as many points as she can so Mittler doesn't devastate your GPA. Take her or Gemma Wilson for Physics 1 Recitation at UML.

A find this Professor a great physics 1 professor if you want to avoid Mittler. If you study just a little the day before the tests you will do very well. Her summer final is tough though.

She's good at explaining how to solve problems to a degree. I have been told, however, that the way she taught us was more helpful than any other recitation professor for physics I.

The class is very tough if you do not pay attention, but Sullivan basically spells everything out for you. Some examples are a bit redundant but you can never go over something too much, especially in this class. She makes it clear what info is relevant, and is a super easy grader on quizzes and activities. She's pretty easy going too.

I had her for recitation, and I'm pretty sure she saved my semester. She's a great professor--she explains material clearly and tries to ensure that students do well. I had a few questions after class and she was able to quickly explain the material in a different way so I understood it.

Quizzes are easy just read the book/pay attention a tiny bit and they are an easy 100. Rushed through difficult problems bit hard to understand but she cares. If she knows you are trying she will do anything to make sure you do well. She helped me learn not to be afraid of using just variables (and w/subscripts!) to solve a prob without # values

easy to understand, gives away quiz grades by posting the solution and if she was 25 years younger I'd totally be interested in her.

Really good recitation instructor. Crystal clear in explanations, REALLY helpful and very available for 1 on 1 help. Take her if you have a chance! to the person below: if you do problems the other way, its up to you. But when they get complicated and numbers get ugly its easier to do it with variables first, thats why she teaches it that way...

Professor Sullivan likes to make easy physics difficult. She solves equations by keeping all the variables throughout the problem, instead of plugging in numbers to simplify it. This usually throws me off from learning anything from her because I do it another way. She often can't do a problem on the spot either. She has to do it in private first.
