Don't you dare try to eat or take out your cell phone in her class. Don't even sneak it. She sees everything and has a major attitude about it. Nice lady though. We sat in a circle almost everyday and it was very similar to a book club. There are three fairly long papers due throughout the semester and a final.

I really enjoyed Dr. Wurzel. She has insightful things to say and I feel like I have gained an interesting perspective for Literature. She is such a nice lady and I really do enjoy talking to her as well. She will be retiring soon and I will miss her. GREAT PROFESSOR. GREAT PERSON.

I had her for Intro to Fiction and I, like many others, spent a great deal of time tallying her "um"s. I also ended up writing something completely opposite of what she had in mind for a prompt and ended up with a B+ on the paper. If you're stuck but have an idea, run with it and she'll probably go for it. A fine class if you can tolerate boredom!

Dr. Wurzel is, by far, the worst professor I have ever had. In a 75 minute class, her average "ummmm" count was 178...I find it utterly ridiculous that this woman has managed to obtain her doctorate when she cannot verbalize a sentence without saying "Um" "like" or "ya know" at least once. Do not take her. She is infuriatingly hard to understand.

I had Wurzel for Drama and American Lit. She can relate the reading selections to a lot of other stories. She really puts a lot of time into prepartion for her classes. I like her and I think her comments are insightful. She is a tough grader, but fair. She sort of takes a long time to express a thought a lot of "umms" but I would take her again.

This is my third class with Dr. Wurzel, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every one with her. She clearly has done extensive research in the American Lit field, and it is quite obvious that she loves to read it and to teach it. Class discussions are very helpful and give insight to good paper topics. She's wonderful and very approachable!

I haven't had her very long, but she's nice and makes good selections to go over in class. Unfortunately, her voice makes me really tired! Also, she's one of those teachers who seems to think any and all input on reading-- even if it's retarded-- is good and will agree with it.
