Comment:

He really cares about his students and is very passionate about the subject. His exams are all multiple choice, allows cheat sheets, and also curves a lot. There is a group presentation, but it's really short and easy. I learned a lot from his class. He does have an accent, but it's not too hard to understand. No homework and no textbook!

I enjoyed his class. It was easy and interesting. One day is lectures the other was watching a video and doing what it said, the videos were made by him. I thought his accent was going to be confusing but i understood fine. Great professor.

Overall, the class was a breeze to take. If you attend class or don't attend class its the same thing. He is very confusing and doesn't teach by the books. he makes his own powerpoints and teaches based on that. I had him on Tuesday and Thursdays, so Tuesdays would be lectures and thursdays would be labs, where you do whatever he posts

Do not take. His midterm reviews are audio files. Lucky no deaf students were in class otherwise he should be reported. He has a thick accent, which I can get by except that his audio file format is inefficient. He claims he has no time to type it up, yet everything else is presented on ppt? 1st midterm, much of the review wasn't even on the test.

Professor Ganesan is extremely nice and helpful! I had him for MW, Mondays was lecture and Wednesdays "lab" day, he has videos so just do what it says. His lectures are recorded and has his own website. So NO BOOK needed. Because of him, I almost changed my major to CIS.

I'm warning you, do not take this professor. His lectures are SO confusing (not to mention BORING) with so much useless information. He goes off on tangents and doesn't explain in detail. FYI: The tests are 100+ Qs, so read the book or ask a lot of questions. I personally didn't buy the book because it was expensive, but I still passed with a C.

Great teacher!! Just come to class and listen to his online lectures and you will pass the class. Teacher is extremely nice. The only problems is that he is late sometimes and it can be hard to understand what he says sometimes. Overall, I would recommend this teacher!!!

No book needed and the class is hands-on; but it could be much better if the teacher were not disorganized. Sometimes he goes too fast with the lectures. At times is difficult to understand what he says. His tests are easy; but the format is bad. 2 midterms, 1 final, and 1 presentation. Tests are over 100 questions. He is a friendly person.

Amazing professor, I enjoyed his class and learned a lot. He does not require a book. His test are over 110 questions, but not to difficult if you pay attention in class. If you are serious about your career take his CIS 484 and 485 classes.

This was a useless class. He does not teach by the book but you still need it just a little. To have a chance to pass his exam, just study from his mid term and final study guides. Most of what will be on the Lecture exam are on it. With the lab part good luck. The only good thing about the lab class (not lab exam) is that it's easy.

Takes some time to get used to his accent. Other than that, very cool guy. However, he flies through slides and makes it kind of hard to take notes. Has all his slides, audio/videos on his website though. Exams are much harder than expected. Midterm felt like a final even w/ 1 cheat sheet (100 questions!). Just study slides, and you'll be ok.

Nice guy but thick accent and very disorganized this quarter. No book is required. Slides and downloaded cd lectures are what you study from. It's really hard to take notes from these lectures because he talks so fast and you have to listen to them over again if you miss something. He grades on a curve.

Ganassin Thick accent made it hard for students to understand what is he talking about!!!.. he's always cheesing thinking that his corny jokes is funny!!...... I didn't learn nothing from his class!. I would avoid his lectures next time.

Prof. Nandakumar doesn't use book.All his classes are based on PowerPoints. 2 mid-term, a presention, and final. All tests are multiple choice. No homework. GOOD PROF. loves teaching.. try to take him for both the lab and lecture.. its alot harder taking 2 different profs. Test are hard but he curves them alot! Take him for any CIS class.. hes great!

Nice guy, loves and takes teaching too seriously. During test he will treat you like High school students. Test are killers. SUPER HARD! Unless you like to take hard test , avoid him.
