Dr. Nandi Crosby is the best professor I have ever had. She is incredibly inspiring, dedicated to academia and education, and truly cares about her students. Her presence is powerful, attention-grabbing, and her teaching never gets boring. She has enriched my college experience and opened my eyes to a new world of life by taking her class

Dr. Crosby is amazing!! About 2-3 weeks before the start of the semester, she emailed the syllabus and required readings. So, we knew what we were in for. She responded to all of my emails and questions. 4 Discussion boards, about 10-12 reading/video assignments, and a YouTube video project at the end of the semester.

Comment:

Great professor, I highly recommend taking any of her online courses if you are someone who likes to work on your own and just have deadlines to meet. She has an excellent set up that allows you enough time to read the material and submit assignments without feeling overwhelmed. Make sure you do the reading and all the assignment.

While Dr. Nandi is clearly very knowledgeable in her field of study, she makes the class somewhat uncomfortable to be in. She encourages participation and discussion, while at the same time discouraging any opinion that opposes her own.

Nandi Crosby is astounding in the sense that she teaches students the real deal, not just a bunch of average textbook nonsense. If you want to learn in an effective way that you are not likely to find elsewhere, take her class. Great personality. I took 2 classes with her - as long as you show up to class and try, I guarantee you an A.

She's great, just make sure to not use your phone during her class and to read before class as she does give some quizzes on the readings. She actually posts the necessary readings on blackboard so you don't have to buy them. Participation is key, she likes a good discussion during class.

SAY SOMETHING EVERY CLASS PERIOD. i had a decent grade until she gave me 1/10 participation points. she said i didn't say enough in class and when i said that surprised me, she claimed i was begging for points last day. she is condescending, thinks students are lazy and privileged compared to her prison students. learned nothing and was insulted.

Dr Nandi is probably the best professor I have ever had, and probably ever will have. She's hilarious and leads awesome discussions. I never feel pressure to say the right thing in her class - with Nandi, there's no wrong answers. She's passionate about what she does and is hella funny. I love Dr Nandi. Definitely take one of her classes!!!

She's very liberal and if your opinion is not the same as hers she'll interrogate you and your grade will suffer. Make sure to participate and make sure to say what she wants to hear. She gives pop quizzes so come to class.

Nandi is a good professor, she has very interesting lectures. I loved going to her classes. Make sure you do EVERY SINGLE discussion and quizzes. Don't read a paper while doing youtube video. She is a hard grader. Pretty much do everything,and PARTICIPATE. If you don't participate she will give you a very low grade. Overall she's good.

Nandi was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She was so inspirational and made me excited to go to class every day. She gave pop quizzes, but they were easy as long as you did the reading. Very easy to get an A as long as you participate, do the readings before class and actually go to class. Readings usually were short, easy reads.

Comment:

Nandi is a great professor and allows her students to voice their opinions. This class is merely participating in class and blackboard discussions. Always be prepared and read the readings because she does give 4 surprise quizzes. The prompts are easy to understand and answer, though. This class is out of 100 points.

Dr. Crosby took over this class from another instructor several weeks into the semester. She did a great job making the material interesting and accessible. She lead excellent in-class discussions, and was responsive and thoughtful. Sociology is about understanding the ideas of other thinkers and applying your own perspective. Complaints unfounded.

Seems as if she put very little effort into the class. The whole class was only 100 points. Random "quizzes" we're given and if you miss them you are screwed. It's a hard class to show up to considering you talk about social issues that are often discussed and hardly any new information is being presented. There was very little teaching done.

Nandi was a great professor. You have to do readings almost weekly, but they are never very long. Discussion boards and participation are easy points to get. She doesn't test except for a few quizzes. Some interesting discussions in class. Make sure to go for attendance. I would definitely take her again.

Worst teacher I've ever had. I think she enjoys teaching sociology because she enjoys listening to the sound of her own voice rant about her personal opinions about topics in society. Don't speak your mind in this class because unless you agree with her you are wrong. I recommend taking sociology but DON'T TAKE IT WITH HER

There's limited points in this class. So if you miss 2-3 assignments good luck passing. Professor doesn't really respect what anyone has to say either. The course is based off discussions but I never wanted to speak my mind because she shoots you down really fast.

You have to talk in class if you want a good grade, but the topics are usually thought provoking enough that you will want to chime in. The final was just a 3-4 minute speech on a movie that you presented with a group. There were a few pop quizzes, 4 discussion board assignments. Super easy class but it's also thought provoking. Discussions are super important and participation/attendance in class is MANDATORY. The novels she assigns are GOOD and the films she shows are about REAL stuff. BE PREPARED TO TALK!!!
