Comment:
He's absolutely brilliant, there's no doubt about that, and he effectively highlights the main points of the material in lectures. He can stray off on long tangents which are laced with valuable wisdom but also off-topic. He talks politics more than is justified in a physics classroom. Extremely intimidating and impatient, but kind to hard workers.

It is easy to tell that Dr Jaggi is not only an intelligent but also wise person. However, he has a way of intimidating students (especially introverts like me). He is sometimes hard to understand - he will say students are free to ask questions, but when you do, he will not always be pleased.

Professor Jaggi is a wonderful teacher. He us very upfront about what to expect in his class; he will tell you what you should concentrate on knowing for his tests, and tells you upfront that you will not be able to understand everything on the first pass. He is very willing to help if you ask him.

I took his class for May Term. He's a smart guy. I have been intimidated by him a lot. His class may have been better in a semester-long form bc I had no prior knowledge about what we went over, and I was lost at times bc we were cramming a lot in. I'm sure he'd be ok for a semester, but don't take his MT unless you are a physics/enviro buff.

I love reading the comments of incoming freshman who have yet to understand how an undergraduate class works and still try to insult the teacher because of that. Jaggi's a freaking genius. Take his classes if you want your mind exploded. 'Nough said.

Tremendous professor. Great at explaining mathematical concepts so that you can really understand what's going on. Sometimes will over explain things a little bit, but it's helpful if you're struggling with the concept. Totally recommend him.

He's a great guy for teaching Gateways. He's a nuclear physicist, so you know he knows his stuff, and he's also one of the most insightful and kind people I've ever met. He is also super nice, just so you know.

Jaggi makes you learn physics on your own. He does not realize that we are first year physics students and that we need to have more things explained to us. He will spend one hour of class going over an entire chapter and then assume you are experts on it and move on. The pace of the class is that of an upper level class. SLOW DOWN!

Some say "Jaggi teaches you life, learn physics on your own." He makes you spend a lot of time at the tutors, study, do ALL the homework, and practice on your own, which does help understanding. But if you invest in his discussions you will learn a lot more than physics.

not the best teacher, but really really fun, and he'll help you if you ask. very supportive if nothing else. be prepared to learn philosophy, economics, polysci, and religion in his class as well. very hard teacher, but worth the class nonetheless

If you havnt had a class with this guy, then dont rate him. He seems nice and cool, and he is very intelligent, but he is a jerk and an awful teacher. He might be a great human, but he sucks at teaching and has a huge ego. Go Detweiler instead

This man thinks he's so smart. He's not a genius, he's just been teaching the same thing for 20 years and knows how to make people feel intimidated. He'll let you talk until you forget what your point is so you'll feel stupid. OK teacher; full of himself.
