Natania is a wonderful teacher. Other reviewers say she plays favorites -- not at all, unless you mean that she recognizes people who work hard and try to contribute in class. I've seen her recognize and encourage students who are not literary-minded but who make an effort. She's my favorite teacher at Knox, hands-down -- Knox is lucky to have her.

You really have to be on top of your game to do well in Natania's class. If you're slacking, she'll notice. She has everything I look for in a professor: she's knowledgeable, approachable, gives good feedback, and tries to be there rain or shine and run a good discussion. I don't think she's as tough as people say, but you'll have to work hard.

She's an awful professor. The worst of Creative Writing Professors. She plays favorites and is insensitive. I really wish I could have dropped this class. I would have much preferred a Creative Non-Fiction workshop with Monica.

Allows opinions that are incorrect to be voiced and go on, doesnt engage the material in a visceral or intriguing way. Look for Metz, Regiacorte, or Franco if you're a writer. If you're a lit person, she knows her stuff. Just don't count on her not to play favorites and know that she keeps you basic in analysis. I didn't like, but others might.

My second best professor at Knox. Witty, supportive, always clear, and as a previous commentator noted, will let you know if your point has no value - which is very helpful. Readings were generally enjoyable, and the assignments were valuable (e.g., the sense papers in her Joyce seminar).
