Comment:
Nate is a great guy (who wants you to refer to him by his first name). The material is often dense, and discussion consequently tends to be more of a lecture where we all sit in a circle. But if you have a question, he will clarify until you say you get it. Reading the text at first is a MUST but you can slack a bit after you understand the basics

Open to suggestions, smart and nice. Don't be annoying or late (even though he comes late). Decent overall.

Comment:
Nice professor, but not very clear sometimes. Classroom discussion is often nonexistent, since the topic is so dense, few understand it. You really MUST read the texts and, if you do, it can be pretty interesting. You will learn a lot, but it's one of those classes that you either love or hate.

Very interesting reading list - prof relates academic & non-academic texts to course very well. Discussions are free form, yet continually refocused on subject at hand. Prof is extremely enthusiastic and helpful at clarifying ideas. A fun class to take. Approaches philosophy of religion properly - offers perspectives, not answers. Makes you think.

Comment:
(this is for FS0003) his class has very little to do with learning how to improve your writing skills or learning about religions and is more a philosophy of religion class. often writing papers gets boring and repetitive and his clarifications rarely help.
