Dr. Carb is the real deal. He was a Tier I professor when Glassboro State was a Tier 4 school. I used to love his rants about all kinds of things. Highlights include Hamlet and Titus Andronicus. Great Professor - the best in fact.

I took Dr. Carb for two courses nearly 30 years ago and he is/was the greatest teacher I've ever had. His love of subject and professional dedication continue to inspire me.

Dr. Carb was my English professor 50 years ago when I was a freshman. His style was clear and concise, but always filled with humor. He made you love learning. Still 50 years later he was the best teacher I have ever had.

Gives long boring rants that have little to do with the subject. He doesn't use a computer, so you can't email him. And God help you if he is your adviser - you're going to have to print out every single document from the University since he can't look it up. I understand that he's hold, but teaching is a profession that requires ongoing education.

Most adorable old man alive. He is very passionate about his subject matter, he makes Shakespeare interesting, fun, and relatable. I barely read the plays, just skimmed them, took notes, and got an A, no problem. Taking him again this semester!

Awesome. Makes you laugh, so even though he goes on and on, he's entertaining. Listen in class and keep up with the readings, and you'll do fine. Essays weighed heavily on exams, but usually hinted at the topics beforehand so that the class would have some idea of what to study. One short paper all semester. Would definitely take him again!

I had Carb for Brit Lit I. He's such a cute old man. I just wanted him to be my grandpa. He only assigned one short paper, two exams and a final. The material was difficult but as long as you write down everything he writes on the board and take good notes, you'll do fine. Essays are weigh heavy on exams.

I had him for Shakespeare II and he was a lot of fun. Pay attention to what he repeats because it will be on his exams. Also be sure to back up your answers with examples from the text and be able to interpret quotations. Write as much as you can with as much as detail as possible.

It's about time for him to retire. I'm taking Modern European Literature and he keeps talking about the past when he used to teach it but he rarely ever teaches it now. I very rarely get any important information and feel like class is a waste. Went to his office about a paper and he gave me useless information. I wouldn't take him again.

Makes a boring subject even more boring. He knows what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to make it interesting. He makes a few funny one-liners but they aren't ever related to what we're learning. He is available and willing to help though, which makes up for his less-than-stellar lectures if you're willing to take the time to meet him.

Dr. Carb is wonderful. He's very clear about what is going to be on the exams. He's fair, helpful, and doesn't expect Shakespeare to be the center of your universe. *Take good notes,* don't miss more than a couple of classes, and you'll be fine.

I've had two semesters with Carb, and was not disappointed at all. He's getting older and slightly battier, but is very informative all in the same. Pay special attention to the things he repeats - they will most likely be on his exams. Be careful, though, as he sometimes plays favorites. Just go to class and read the material and you'll do fine.

not the greatest teacher but he was pretty cheesy and funny. He tried to keep you entertained but it was just such a boring class. I wouldnt take another class with him because he isnt a good teacher and you pretty much have to spit out his opinions for the exams, but if u want a good laugh and are good with Shakespeare, go for it!

While Dr. Carb isn't what one would call politically correct, he's definitely direct. And funny. Very funny. To be cheesy about it, the man has forgotten more about literature (and Shakespeare) than I will ever know. English major or not, if you're literate, it's well worth taking a course with him. (Particularly Shakespeare I or II.)

He's pretty nice, and a fairly good teacher. He speaks so softly though, if your in the back in a large room you're going to be bored to death. He was very clear on what he expected on the papers and the tests, which I really liked. It wasn't an easy class by any means, but I'm taking him again in the Fall, so take that for what its worth.

I love Carb. If you are an English major you will be able to handle his class. He is not an easy A so if you are a lazy student who likes your grade handed to you, don't take him. You will learn a lot and he is extremely entertaining

Carb is absolutely awesome. One of the best professors I've ever had at Rowan. He's smart, funny, and relates well to a class half a century younger than him. Easily one of the best professors you will ever take. Participate, listen in class, and write well thought out essays, and you will be almost guaranteed an A.

Best professor I've ever had. Endless knowledge and cares if you care. Dr. Carb was quite simply the definition of what "the man" is. Funny yet serious. I hated Shakespeare, then I took his class. I actually like it now!
