Dr. Dodge is a great guy but he often struggles to explain the concepts in a way students will understand. Read and reread lectures/utilize IEEE and you will do well! There's lots of opportunities to raise your grade so take advantage. Despite the difficulty of the course 2310 was my favorite class and it inspired me to change my major to CS

Professor Dodge is a brilliant Teacher. His lectures are a bit fast and he covers a lot of material in one lecture. He provides lots of opportunity of Extra Credit which includes Exercises, Test Review, Bonus Homework and bonus questions in Exams. Although the course material is hard the extra credit along with the helpful IEEE review makes it easy

EE is a difficult subject so do not expect a walk in the park and Dodge has been teaching the subject for so long he has trouble relating to students at times but he will help you if you put in the effort.

Dodge is notorious for going through content very fast, his slides are often not very useful and it was only IEEE Tutoring/Review Sessions which got me through his exams. However, Dodge is a real character and has great passion and enthusiasm for teaching engineering and him sharing his personal experiences made going to his lectures worthwhile.

Great person. Funny sometimes. Goes through slides very very fast and packs alot of information in. Go to the test reviews if you want to pass. Allows a cheat sheet on exams. If you're final exam grade is higher than your class average he will make that you're final grade. There's also opportunity to be exempt from final. Very well known professor

Professor Dodge is a knowledgeable person; however there is a lot of material in this class that he has to rush through in order to finish the course. If you zone out for 5 seconds during the lecture, you'll be completely lost. Secondly, because of this constraint, he doesn't emphasize the things he will actually test you on. GO TO IEEE REVIEWS!

Dodge's powerpoints are long and not always extremely helpful. They are super colorful, but definitely word heavy. He is one of those professors that hasn't quite moved into the next century in a way; a sweet old man though. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit, but you need to attend class to receive the extra credit.

You get out of this class what you put in. Yes it is helpful making friends and going over old exams but figuring the work out and being able to do it for yourself is the only way you are going to pass. Dr. Dodge is super helpful so utilize him at every chance. Do the extra credit, and dont wait till the last minute to start your homework and labs.

Comes off harsh at first, but he's actually rather helpful. Lectures can be a little confusing at times due to time constraints but he's always available to answer questions. My only critique is that he takes off a lot of points on tests for mistakes. Just pay attention and go to his office if you need help. Also the last review comes with pizza!

This is a very good professor who offers many opportunities to get an A in his course. You'll have to work for it though. If the content doesn't make sense at first, he is easily accessible and will gladly help you understand.

Dr. Dodge is definitely the best professor I've had in an engineering course. He knows his stuff and gives many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Although the class can be very difficult at times, if you do all the assignments and attend IEEE, you'll do well.

He is a very very nice and good professor, but his class was definitely not an easy class. There's homework AND lab (not to mention hour long lab reports) every week, but he's there to help and if you work hard, you will pass for sure. MUST GO TO IEEE TUTOR at SPN. Without their help, I would've failed the class.

-MUST go to IEEE review sessions before the exams (exact same as exams) -A lot of extra credit homework to make up missing grades -Tough, but if you go to IEEE at SPN for every homework, you will get an A -do well on first 2 exams and get exempted for final -do well on final and replace your final grade -very good professor

Make an A average on the 1st 2 test and you are exempt from the final. Go to the IEEE center and they can make his rushed lectures really clear. Dodge is an amazing professor and if you dont make an A in this class, you need to reconsider if college is for you. Only professor to teach this. So I am writing this to tell you to go to the IEEE tutors.

He's a really cool guy. There is a substantial amount of material to learn, but if you study, do the homework and always attend class, you'll be set. His lectures are to the point, helpful and clear. There are homework assignments due every few weeks but they are easy if you pay attention in class. If you don't attend class you'll probably fail.

Best professor I've had so far at UTD. His lecture power points are extremely useful and he explains each important slide in depth. Print out his power points before each class. He gives tons of extra credit opportunities, but he will make you work for it. The programming aspect for this course is pretty tough, but gives a lot of examples to help.
