I had him for Kievan Rus' and Muscovy. It was a good class, taught by a professor who knows everything there is to know about Russian history. Every second of his lectures is informative, and you'll miss out on a lot if you skip class. He can ramble, but it's nothing off-putting. Very fair grader. I'd take him again.

Comment:

Absolutely the best professor I have had at Seton Hall. I took him for Kievan Rus' and Muscovy; I've never learned more in a class. I went back to him this semester for an interview about Ukraine for a research paper - he knows more about his subject than I thought possible. Don't take him if you want an easy A. Only if you want to learn a bunch.

He is fantastic. Although I took his class online over the summer, he was the best professor I had all summer (out of 3). I loved his "class". Reading was necessary but he just wants you to learn. Don't take his class if you don't care about it or learning.

i had him, during may intersession & i almost died. you are going to need to drink one cup of coffee before this class. there are lots of notes, there no point in using the book. overall he is a good/fair grader & he a nice man. the problem is he is extremely boring.

Probably the worst professor EVER! When taking notes you are practically paraphrasing the entire book. Also he gives review sheets, oh thats helpful...NOT!!! They are 4-7 pages long and you use 3 of them for one exam. For example he gave us 120 terms to define when he will ask 4 on the test! DONT TAKE HIM!

If you like a laid back professor, don't take this guy. He is real lazy and won't have your tests graded on time, but keeps you the whole hour and 15 minutes - not a second before. He is very dry and if someone asks him a question he often doesn't know the answer and changes the subject. Boring boring boring class. Laptops allowed.

Summer session... started exactly 8am and went until 11am every day. 10 minute breaks... looks and sounds like a mix between the father from 3rd rock and mr. magoo. knows his stuff and you HAVE to take tons of notes... the reading doesn't really help because he asks for all essay type questions on the midterm and final. rough class

I really don't like history..and he definetly wasnt the professor for me to take! He is very smart and is very knowledgeable about history, but he has no structure. He just lectures, and it's soooo boring!! It was soo hard to stay focused. You take a lot of notes, i had this class MWF,it was aweful!

hes alright. Really smart but really boring. He lectures all of class and you have to take a load of notes. Tests arnt bad but he is just ridiculous sometimes. He gave me a 79.8 whats up with that. Dont take him if you dont have to but if you do, pay attention and dont miss this class ever!!!!
