If he seems to laugh, maybe it's just because his life experience has already taught him the lessons that he realizes most young students have yet to learn. He's not laughing AT you, but rather at some of the whim

this prof will go above and beyond to make sure you get a good grade. you have to do a lot of inclass writing, but no big paper- just two short essays that you have the opportunity to revise for a better grade. so glad that i took this class with dr. barton! seriously, he's great!

Good professor, but a bit disorganized. Picky, but not difficult overall. Actually fairly nice and funny. (He's not mean or anti-female) He assigned a long midterm and final, but they were take home essays with more than a week to work on them. And all he wanted were summaries: if you took good notes, you could basically repeat them and he'd be hap
