TAKE MAT/CSI 221 FIRST!!!!!!!! Absolutely terrible professor by every standard imaginable. Exams are mostly unrelated to the homework questions and the book. You can't even teach yourself. You will usually hear people cuss during exams. It is THAT bad. I got an A ONLY because I took 221 first and he happened to have some related questions.

I went to every single lecture, attended every discussion, did all the homeworks and ended up with a D+. His notes are way too confusing.

This guy can't teach at all... it's so embarrassing to witness. He doesn't even tell you how to do sample questions of the different sections.

Material tends to be mind-bending and if you're up to it, fun in a challenging way, and knowing Scheme and Prolog might be useful to some small portion of students someday, but ultimately 310 is pure academia. Decent curve. Torturous lectures. Less human than any of his coworkers, asking for help feels like appealing to a machine.

Like others have said, class is EXTREMELY boring. Only about 25% show up to class. He had a strong tendency to fall into endless tangents and, with most questions in the lecture, he'll say, "Well I wont do that problem; it's too mundane." Bad teacher, bad class ... only take it with him if you have to.

Seems to know what he is talking about, I did not. Needs to go over problems in class. Notes were very clear and helpful. You need a text book to do the homework. TA Ben knows how to work you through problems(this should have been in class as well).

Worst class. He basically throws the material at you and thats it. If you're lucky your TA is good. He has seizures in front of class, no one seems to know what is going on. His lectures are dry and notes are basically words on a white background. Dont take this class with him

class was boring, but it's not Professors fault, he has to teach a bunch of people who only need the course for their b.s. (not bachelors sci) majors. People do bad in the course cause they have no understanding of formal logic due to an overemphasis of social sciences in America. No one goes to lectures except the students who have A's, go figure

The class material itself was already boring enough (Do we really still need to be learning Scheme and prolog?) and Murray definitly did not help. Extremely boring and useless classes. Easy Projects, tests so so, but came away with barely any information.

Consider yourself lucky if you get a good TA for this class because you won't be able to do well on your own. It's not easy, but you will learn a lot. (CSI210 is a different story though, its hard and useless).

Very smart man... but a horrible teacher. Not only does he not seem to feel comfortable in front of a lecture he doesn't even use his own notes... thats right those are ravi's. I suggest buying the notes and skipping class all he does is read the notes.
