For MTH 201, Fong is the best teacher to take. he may not be the best professor, and is at time hard to understand, but he prepares you for the final exam, which is worth 30 percent. Because the final exam is written by the department, many people who have other professors are not prepared, and their grades suffer tremendously. Take Fong

Comment:

This class very confusing and uninteresting. Tests were impossible to study as there was lots of random and specific questions not discussed in class or in the book. He outlined the textbook during class, which wasn't particularly helpful. Extremely disappointed. Class was much more difficult and boring than it should have been.

BEST PROFESSOR! He wants you to succeed and gives you the tools to do so. He goes very quickly but he's always open to helping students. He knows what he's doing and teaches you exactly what you need for the final; nothing more nothing less. Doesn't want to waste our time or his.

Dr. Fong is very nice but he got distracted the whole time and did a poor job of teaching. He just puts examples and expects you to understand without explaining anything. I was lost the entire time, and even when I went to him he didn't help. He basically told me I was going to fail. If you haven't taken Calc, do NOT take this teacher.

very nice and funny man, but he isn't very clear when teaching. If you didn't take calc in high school, this class will be difficult. I am glad i took it in high school otherwise i would have been lost. He is very generous with points and drops 1 test. Show up for each class because he will give you extra credit at the end of the year for it.

Very difficult if you're not coming out of high school with good calc background. Tests are tough and the final is a killer (he has no control over questions on final). He doesn't teach you how to do things so if you are one that learns by example, you'll have a bad time. The math tutors at the Harper teach way better then him. Accent can be thick.

Very, very nice guy. However, I didn't take Calculus in high school and this was not the class for me. Good class if you have calc background because he doesn't do much teaching, just a few examples for each section and expects you to sort of teach yourself. Quizzes every day in groups really boosts your grade. Tests are very difficult.

Coming into the class, he has high expectations for his students. He has a high respect for Creighton students so he expects that everyone should keep up. If you have not taken Calculus in high school, it was a very hard time trying to understand and follow his lecture. He expects you to be ready.

He is super sweet and nice. He really tries to make class interesting and talk about things going on on campus with you. He can be hard to understand at times but you can find the answers to your questions in your book. I really recommend taking him. I'm taking him again for another math class

dr. fong is very nice and really cares for his students. if you go to class and review the in class workshops the tests are quite easy, and he drops your lowest test grade. if you study some outside of class an A is attainable. the final is the only killer, but is the same for everyone in the course.

Best teaching prof in Creighton's math dept. Fong has a ton of ways to teach material that he seems to customize for each class. Very approachable outside of class - clearly loves to teach. Best in small classes with advanced topics. The "easy A" from great teaching, not easy material. I've seen complaints of clarity...I never had a problem.

Pretty simple class. Professor Fong is a great guy and is extremely nice, however, sometimes you have to teach yourself the material. With that said, the material is not hard at all. He teaches you mainly for the final which makes the final pretty simple. Great guy!

Great teacher! You have workshops after every couple of sections which are just worksheets (open notes, open book, work with others) and 4 tests (he drops the lowest grade). Always has a smile on his face! Loves telling stories. Take him!

Very easy teacher. Get the workshops from someone and copy for easy points. Do your homework every nighr, take good notes in class (it is easy to drift off) and study for tests. That was my killer. Really great guy! Really sweet.

Although his class is easy, he is not very good at teaching the subject. Although he really knows what he is doing, he is not able to relate that knowledge onto his students. If you want a class that not much work is needed for, take him...otherwise take someone else if you actually want to learn the material.

Don't buy the book for this class.Get the workshops (quizzes) from someone who had him before.He never changes them.He lets you work together on them.Attendance isn't mandatory, but he takes it into consideration when giving final grades.Doing the homework helps, but isn't mandatory.Really nice guy, and wastes a lot of class time telling stories.

One of the best professors ive ever had. He knows his stuff and really wants you to get a good grade and learn. Shows a lot of shortcuts not in the book. Attendance isnt mandatory and the book isnt really needed. Math isn't my thing but class wasnt painful at all and I got a B. getting a C or above is really really easy. He's got funny stories too.
