Assigns homework that is twice as hard as what was taught in lecture and you will automatically get a bad grade because tutors cant help you with homework. He also has class MWF and decides to assign homework through email on TUESDAY due Wednesday. If you are taking this class to fulfill the math and science and distribution-DONT.

Lande is great, he is very clear and explains well. Welcomes class discussions. Written exams are slightly difficult. You'll read and take lots of notes. Don't be afraid to ask about your grade, he might make mistakes. Not impossible, but does require work.

An excellent educator that clearly knows his material. You must go to class, you must lesson. You will love that you did both. Interesting lectures for sometimes challenging material, but worthwhile.

Prof. Lande is a SUPERB educator--easily the best teacher I've had at UMB or elsewhere. Frequent, short hw assignments were helpful. To do well, live and breathe logic for a semester: fantasize about derivations as you fall asleep at night, explain arrow intro to your chinchilla. If you want to learn logic, get interested -- Lande makes that easy.

Great professor. So kind and really cares about his students, even the ones who do not participate as much. He was also very fair and even let some students retry an assignment when they misunderstood the prompt. This course is called hard, but if you really pay attention and do the readings and take notes it is not too hard.

The material for his Logic class is different from anything you have seen before, so don't expect the assignments to be a walk In the park - you have to work for it! Lande makes the material, which could easily be boring, and he makes it fun! He is a fair grader and absolutely hysterical! If you need help he will go to the ends of the earth.

He is a good teacher. I have taken his logic class and he's hilarious. The only thing I hated about him was that he would move too quickly and say things to fast for me to understand. He definitely cares about his students. I would take him again just not the class.

Although he is a nice person, he yells randomly. Goes over the time of class. Complicated and not very good at explaining the topic or even where we are.

Absolutely a great professor. You should always show up for his classes for his logic classes of you will fail. I had a paper I did later on the semester, he told me to come to his office to talk. He knew I could've done better because in the past, I did better papers. I took him for logic. He goes out of his way for students.

Very involved in his work. But a tough grader. The only way to get As in his papers and quizzes is to give as many details on the readings and class discussions as possible. Make sure you mention readings not tackled in class to prove that you have done it. He will not give you full credit otherwise

One of the best professors that Ive ever had. he is funny and knowledgeable. He is always there to help you out, but doesnt respond to emails quickly. Took him for logic, and although the subject matter wasnt easy, he made everything about the class fun. Do your homework , read the book, and you will pass. Dont expect an easy A.

Prof. Lande is the main reason I keep coming back to UMB. He's fun, helpful, and an incredible educator. Sometimes, we spent the whole class dissecting one paragraph of Augustine or another philosopher, but he always had everyone's attention. No need for him to tell people "no laptops" - everyone is too busy taking notes to Facebook or Snapchat!

He gives extensions on papers if you ask. If you go talk to him, he WILL help you understand the material. Readings are tough and the essays will be sure to include all the readings you cover in class. The most important thing is to PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HE SAYS. TAKE NOTES, as it's doubtful that you'll understand the material fully on your own.

Fantastic teacher. That being said, the material is extremely tough and more often than not I left that class confused and feeling as though we found ways to logically run in circles. Professor Lande found ways to take this subject and make it interesting and dare I say it, fun. He's eccentric and extremely passionate about the subject

Anyone who doesn't like Lande simply doesn't appreciate the subject matter, or intellectual rigor with which it demands. He is an amazingly cunning and brilliant man, very concerned with students too. Coming from a student who has failed most, if not all of the material offered so far - I simply love the intellectual stimulation he provides.

I really like Lande. He's very passionate about philosophy and a nice guy. However, sometimes his lectures get a bit verbose, sidetracked, and ultimately can become confusing. Sparknotes or anything of the sort is very helpful in understanding the material outside of class. I would suggest you use it. That said, I did learn a decent amount.

Great teacher and seems like a great guy. He is always willing to help make the material clearer to students in office hours or in class if you ask the right questions. Very logical guy. I had him for logic! He wrote the textbook himself and it goes really in depth which can get confusing but he wants people to fully understand.

Prof. Lande is an excellent professor who challenges the class to think and participate in class discussions, which take up much of class time. Unlike many classroom discussions, these are fun and informative. Definitely visit him during office hours! His feedback on papers is excellent and greatly improved my writing.
