Prof. Soguk is passionate about his areas of expertise so don't come in trying to waste his time or yours. His lectures are thought-provoking and he does an amazing job at inciting reflection by fostering discourse. He is supportive and of great advice if needed. Planning to take as many of his classes as possible.

This class is not an easy A, but if you're interested in actually gaining a new perspective on foreign and international affairs, I would really recommend this class. He's a really nice guy. If you put in the work, he recognizes it. I want to take one of his classes every semester.

The TA grades the papers and he grades the 2 exams. He is intimidating so not a lot of people talk in class. The exams are off the readings. My gripe is that some idiot in class (who bombed exam 1 bc she didn't read) begged him to make a take home exam for exam 2 (which he did) which resulted in him grading it harder. He's fun and challenging.

This class was one of the hardest that I have taken, but was well worth it. He is really helpful, but you need to ask for help if you need it -- don't expect him to make it easy for you or allow you to cut corners to get by. Make sure you show up to class on time and prepared to take notes. Tests are hard, ask for help!

Take this class only if you’re VERY interested in foreign policy and international issues. He talks and talks, and is very vague with the assignments. He’s also refused to explain and clarify assignments when asked in class. There are a ton of readings, but no textbook. He gives extra credit.

My favorite PoliSci Prof! He's the head of the Political Department. Instresting lecturer. Tests go off of class lectures and readings. No book! Just 4-9 readings posted online a week. You also will read the NY Times. I suggest you keep up with the readings as you go or it will be too much once the test comes. Participate in class!

Not a class for slackers. Slightly unconventional teaching style, but you end up learning more than you can imagine and you don't even realize it. If you're serious about learning, you must take one of his classes.

he made me think. insightful prof. take notes on what he says, read assigned articles and the tests should be fairly easy. gives a lot of extra cred opportunities. most of all he respects your opinions, as long as you back them up. class was interesting, videos were cool.

Great and challenging teacher on world politics, migration, rebellion - employs a method of teaching that is very complex and radical in its implications, while being understandable to regular people - like most of us students, for instance.
