Comment:

I took this course online and I was worried about how she would grade speeches, but she gives great feedback and comments on your outline before you give the speech so you know if she approves about what you are talking about. As long as you do the discussions points and follow her feedback you should have no problem in this class. Textbook online.

This class was a piece of cake! I took it on World Campus and every Sunday would log on, write my paper, and submit within a couple hours. I ended up getting 100s on almost every paper, even when they were terrible. This class was a breeze!

Dr. Gutgold is a great role model. She is extremely knowledgeable in public communication. She has experienced alot and is also an author. She is not very good planning because she contradicts herself alot but is a great professor and person. Very enthusiactic and passionate about speaking. No textbook, she gives it to you. Easy class for shy kids

I'm under the impression she thinks you take one class a semester, hers. The workload, at least in her online classes, is heavy and immediate. I'm talking 100+ pages of reading, 3-4 page essay, tons of research, videos to watch, and a speech due all in week 2. Easily the heaviest workload for a 100 level class I've ever had.

Constantly inspired by her passion for women's rights, and her passion for public speaking. She was very accommodating if you have to miss a class as long as you communicate with her. She understands that public speaking isn't easy for everyone and goes easy on grading if its not perfect. LOVE HER

I took her over the summer during the week long session, and at first I thought CAS was gonna suck completely but in all honesty by the end of that week it was not bad at all. She is a great Professor and would take her class again in blink of an eye.

A good teacher with good intentions of motivating her students to become better speakers. She gives very helpful and encouraging feedback and, as a result, she improves your public speaking level from where it was on Day 1. She can be egotistical at times (sometimes at a rather bothersome level), but her classes are still worth taking.

It is a lot of work for an "intro" class. She takes off points for every little thing and she talks constantly about how this course will be important for our whole lives. Very good professor that is easy to get along with. She understands that sometimes things come up and allows you to move past them. On the day of my one speech, I lost my voice and she was very understanding and allowed me to give my speech another day. =]

Very easy professor unless she decides for whatever reason that she doesn't like you. In the case, kiss your A goodbye, she'll take a point or two off of everything, and in a class only worth 100 points, it will have an impact on your grade. She's also very forgetfull and consumed with her own agenda.

Dr. Gutgold is a very nice teacher. Take her for any CAS. I only had her for a seminar but im sure shes the same for her other classes. Only thing i didnt like was we did alot of writing in a speech class. But overall shes pretty cool.

Dr.Gutgold is a pretty cool teacher. She is very nice and grades extremely easy. I only had her for a seminar so there really was not much speeches to present. The only thing I didnt like was that she makes you write a lot in a speech class.
