Prof. Bekas is one of those teachers that you tell your kids about when you reflect back on your college years. He is so helpful and so accessible outside of school, he takes his time to give you quality feedback on every paper, and he is really good at understanding personal situations. I had 2 surgeries throughout the term, and he worked with me.

Professor Bekas is funny and laid back. He often makes you split into groups and work which I liked a lot about his class. He is very lenient and understanding if things come up as long as you talk to him or send him an email. However, I felt like I didn't learn as much as I was expecting to. He's also a pretty tough grader.

I typically enjoy English. Not with this professor. I took his class online, and it was the worst decision I could have ever made. His assignment descriptions are vague. When emailed with questions about assignments he does nothing more than restate what was already posted. He also had MANY grammatical errors in his comments on papers. Horrible.

Poor online presence probably because there are so many students it takes a while to answer back questions (so be prepared) and the instructions he gives to revise a paper are vague and he will fail the paper if you don't understand. I got the impression that he would fail someone he disagrees with. Avoid if you're shy about your work being public

Very unorganized and not helpful at all. English is my best subject and I made a C in his class. He also messed up my grade and when I emailed him about it he never replied. I took it online maybe in person he is better.

Took his class online and it is pretty tough. There is alot of assignments so prepare to do a lot of work. Didnt learn anything new just a lottttt of work. Three papers to write and many journal articles to keep up with. Would not suggest his online class.

Update to my last review. He is a little forgetful sometimes and changes dates on assignments on his part. He does not accept late work so beware of this. I just missed an essay that I thought we did not have to turn in. Otherwise his class is just writing and he gives you feedback on what you write.

So far I am taking his class right now and it's OK. You have a total of 8 written assignments 4 are major essays and the other 4 are related to the readings from the book. Awful professor I ever met. Assignments not clear, and you must redo their several times. He doesn't teach anything, he gives only tasks and cheeks. Homework papers back without explanation. Class works are waist time easy - things he can explain two hours.
