Comment:

Dixon was one of my favorite professors, bar none. I have pretty much no vested interest in philosophy, but he made it interesting and, by extension, one of my favorite classes. You better get ready to work for your grade, though, with reading, exams, and papers.

Dr. Dixon usually teaches in open-forum. You will read for every class period, and then you will take a short reading test focusing on specific examples in the text. Then you'll discuss your opinions as a class, and he'll help the flow by outlining on the board. He also asks for six essays throughout the semester, but only uses your highest four.

He's an awesome professor! He grades his students very critically though. His pop quizzes are lame too! My friends and I used to write down all the funny stuff that he says. So sometimes you'll just be laughing all hour and the rest of the time you'll be learning a lot of useful stuff. I highly recommend this guy!

I was the only sophomore in this class, and after the first few classes contemplated taking it P/F. However, after I got my grades back, I saw no need to. Dixon is a great teacher who really makes the subject interesting, and is very willing to help. Be prepared to write a lot of papers. But he's probabl one of the best profs at Alma.

He is a great teacher in that he explains everything in class very well. The problems lies in the fact that he grades his papers way to hard, his exams cover things not discussed in class which make them extremely hard, and he favors certain students to much.

super easy class, have been doing A/B work without ever opening the book, but he made me stay after class to tell me i was a poor student and that if he had the chance he wouldn't have let me stay in the class after i missed the first day due to trying to change it.

Excellent teacher!! Let me just say his voice makes my hairs stand up!!(he's got a slight bristh accent) The class is ran by the students, and he does a great job at it. Very little homework, but the class discussion is what you need to listen too.
