Dr. Honerkamp has a unique personality. There are daily writings due at the beginning of class. So, if you want a good grade you must attend class. And the exams aren't too hard, the format is just a little different.

Tests are a little abnormal but follow the study guides and you'll be all set. The lectures are very long and boring but there is a written homework due in every class so you must attend.

He makes you watch videos of pretty much cave people. None of them speak English or any recognizable language to humans. You have to show up when he is showing a video though because he always makes an assignment due. If you don't go to class there is a very likely chance he will make an in class assignment due.

This was field school, so, yes, attendance was mandatory and enthusiasm was, too. If you don't like the heat, don't go digging in the Deep South in summer. Oh, and you should be aware there are insects, snakes, and gators involved. If undeterred you will love this in depth experience with a seasoned anthropologist. Lots of learning and fun!

Honerkamp is a good anth professor. He's really funny and helps keep lectures interesting. I've taken two classes with him and did well in both. Would definitely recommend him for cultural anthropology and any other anth classes for majors. He's great.

Prof Honerkamp is a great guy and a good teacher. You can tell that he is passionate about what he teaches and he gives you study guides for the exams so they are fairly easy. I have never like history (or similar subjects) and he made the class interesting! I will miss having him next semester!

I really enjoyed his lectures even though he goes over the same stuff multiple times. Didn't have to study much since he does that. Test are all writing based but not to hard. Lots of writings, very easy though. Always did mine 30 mins before class.

This professor is THE WORST. I'm a junior this year and his was the only class I have ever had issues with. Can't read his chicken scratch on the board, he takes the course material way too seriously considering most are there for the credit hours. His tests are hard and have NO multiple choice. All essay questions, worth 25% each. AVOID HIM!!!

This class was pretty straight forward and I knew exactly what was expected of me. He's really funny in class and his lectures are pretty interesting. As long as you listen in class, it's easy to follow what he's writing on the board. You do need to study for tests, but you don't necessarily HAVE to read the book if you take good notes. Would take.

You absolutely need the textbook. His lectures are sometimes unclear as he doesn't really do "notes". He writes single words here and there on the board which if you haven't done the reading are hard to follow. Tests are 100% essay. If you don't go to class and turn in the homework (he gives short assignments 1-2 times a week) you won't pass.

His lectures take up the entire class. He tends to go over the same material every lecture. Gives writes at least once a week and there is only 3 exams. If you miss anything your grade will likely go down. Everything is writing based. He is a great teacher and makes the class enjoyable, but be prepared to study in order to pass.

This professor was honestly the worst teacher i've ever had in my life. I have never been more confused by lecture, more upset towards grading, or more angry about attitude. When someone leaves the class early for any reason, he stops teaching completely and rants about it. He purposely waits until the last 2 minutes of class to give a quiz.

Best class I've taken so far. By the title of the class, I thought I was in for a rough semester. But Honerkamp actually made the material interesting. His class is very laid back (he sits on desks, lies on tables, and jokes a lot). I would absolutely take him in the future!

Going into this class I heard he's a strict grader and it is hard to pass his class. But actually it was my easiest class so far in my college career! He makes the subject interesting. However, if you miss class, you WILL be behind. He gives writes once or twice a week which are good and bad. Overall he's one of my fave professors.

He is really hard to pay attention to. He stood at the front of the class and talked he entire hour and fifteen minutes. No group work or anything that gets you involved. One of the most boring classes I've ever taken

Honerkamp knows what he is talking about thats for sure! He can be slightly confusing in lectures. There are 3 exams including the final, the homework is 20 short writing assignments. If you study you won't have any problems. The attendance in the class is not mandatory but you will may miss out on a homework assignment. Overall is a great class!

Tough, but he is willing to listen if you feel he didn't grasp your brilliant conclusions. A master teacher who deserves to have his lectures filmed for posterity. Funny as heck and very patient. He's been doing this "for a minute." And, it shows.

He is very specific in what he expects, but he is totally fair. Argue with him, but be prepared to support said argument. extremely bright and talented lecturer, very engaging. you can tell he is not a newbie professor. he knows his stuff.

His attendance is not mandatory but you will fail the class if you don't show up. Very funny. Make sure you have the text book. You will watch a lot of videos but they're interesting! No extra-credit, but if you come to class you won't have a need for it. He has 2 midterm exams and a final exam. Easy class.

He's very scatter brained and hard to follow, but if you do the assignments he gives you after every class and show up to the next one to turn it in, you should be good. This class is an easy A, as long as you show up and do the assignments you should be good.
