Worse possible teacher ever. The whole class is basically everything you would do in writing skills. A lot of vocab tests. A lot of grammar assignments. Not allowed to leave early. Unfair/hard grader.

She isn't the worst teacher I have had. She is very kind and you can redo your essays by going to the learning center. I felt like she was a harder grader because she is mainly a journalism teacher. I am very strong in writing essays, but i never broke past a B. She has favorites, which I think is wrong. If i had to take her again, I wouldn't.

Very nice, will help you out if she can, but does like to play favorites. She is not mean to anyone but is nicer to some rather than others. Will also try to get you to write articles different than what you normally would like to do, which is actually a good teaching tool... good teacher, but a little dry.

Had her for Journalism 1, took her again for the second part of the class but ended up dropping it -- not due to lack of interest, rather, had some medical problems and couldn't complete the course. She's a great mentor. Not an easy prof. by any stretch, but as long as you did your work and tried your best, you'd do well.

She is extremely friendly and easy-going with the introduction to journalism classes, and stresses practicality rather than rote memorization. She is also consciously aware of what type of articles her students would be interested in writing about, and does her best to give them appropriote topics that they will enjoy.

Dr. R is pretty cool... consider yourself lucky if you're a journalism major, because she is an awesome teacher and you will have to take her for at least 3 classes. Also, since most of the classes have about only 10 students, it's easy to get help from her. Kind of plays favorites, though.
