Easy A. Need to go to class & discussion for attendance(also need to be early for this). Pretty boring, students are treated like little kids. The TAs teach the class(especially Birdie). Long online readings that you don't really need to do. 1 question quiz on readings in discussion, two 3 page papers, 1 comprehensive final exam, + attendance=grade

This class is easy but it does make you really bored. You get kicked out of class for using your cell phone. It is boring but really it is so easy it is hard not to do well in this class.

Great material, interesting topics; AWFUL teaching. 1 You're treated like a child 2 Lectures are dull 3 There's no real reason why movies are included in this class (tricks you) 4 Plenty of biases. All in all, a contradictory class where the professor says one thing about teaching and does just the opposite. Not fun for critical minds.

Nola is boring and treats us like children. But, this is by far the easiest class I have EVER taken! If you go to class and do the small amount of work necessary you will get an A. Highly recommended.

Some of the comments here are a bit harsh.192A is an easier-paced class but if you're interested in an intro to educ topics this is an excellent wide-ranging (albeit basic) summary. once a wk lecture/discuission section, TAs grade everything,usually a diff guest speaker weekly to mix it up. Highly recommend

This class mainly focused on how to differentiate instruction-however-what I took from it was to simplify the curriculum for students and not give them the skills they would need once they left the "special education bubble." Professor was not open for any intellectual debate in the classroom-her view=the right view.

She is completely boring. We are in college not kindergaden. Her assigments are far fetched. She is annoying. All she ever wants to talk about is Japan, it has nothing to do with special ed. She treats you like a special needs child. She knows her information and has a lot of resources but does not know how to teach at a college level.

Great teacher, Not at teaching class information,but at modeling herself as a teacher, although she teaches the class as though everyone is five. Maura(TA)was Great,try and get her, Easiest class I've taking at UMass,But still effective in terms of teaching technique. Nola looks like the woman from the poltergeist, seriously

Nola is a great teacher- very interested in helping everyone in the class learn and she is very helpful. This was one of my favorite classes although attendance is mandatory, the class is very interesting and fun. Discussions are even better because they make it a very comfortable environment. I definitely recommend taking this class!

Wicked easy class. The lectures are a killer sometimes and Nola's voice can get to you but at least half of it are movie clips. Attendence is taken but its once a week so not hard to go to. discussion teachers do most of the work. Therese was one of the best TAs

an easy A, Rod is an amazing lecturer, nola is annoying and reminds me of a 3rd grade teacher. the class honestly brought me back to my elementary years... some classes i had to make collages... enough said.

I really only gave this class a good rating because the TA's (mainly) Rod taught a lot of the lectures. We had some guest speakers, who were generally not as interesting. Nola didn't really lecture a lot. Make sure you get a good TA, I know Rod is amazing, and make sure you go to class and do the assignments and you'll get an A.
