Dr. Beck is one of the greatest professors at TLU. He is super willing to work with you, and very easy to pass. There is a LOT of material to keep up with in his class, but put in some effort and you're good. If you ever miss a class, go to his office and get a re-cap! He is incredibly intelligent- he's even translated the New Testament! Must Take.

Dr. Beck just wants to know that his students understand and have personally reflected on the material he presents in class. If you are sure to raise your hand in class often, even when no one else is, that will do wonders for your grade. Oh yeah, and you barely have to read the book. I never even open the books. Just show him personal reflection.

I took Beck for 2 upper division THEO courses. I was sick with MRSA this term and spent much time bed ridden; Beck worked with me outstandingly above & beyond any other instructor to help me pass his courses despite my illness through the term. He is VERY passionate about what he is teaching. Lots of notes; computer suggested, FANTASTIC instructor!

TAKE LOTS OF NOTES!! He gives you what he expects the first day of class.. If you take that seriously, you'll do well, if not.. you get the picture... He gives you the test questions (word for word) in the syllabus, so there are no surprises.. There is a LOT of writing though--bummer :(

If you never show up you might get a C or D, or if you are an OUTSTANDING student you might get an A, but more than likely you will get a B. Just show up and take notes, take advantage of extra credit and you will do fine. The tests are like 7 essay questions each and thats it. You can do test corrections and you can turn things in late!
