Comment:

Tests once a week and are all take home. But, print them out and take them to class and you will realize he answers every one in lectures. Not as bad as he is made out to be. It is true that the interdis. sucks, but not too terrible.

Good man but not the best teacher. He is certainly knowledgeable and it shows throughout the course. Too much times is spent on useless topics. The tests are all online; look up Prinsky in goog to see all his Prinsky N&Q, tests, and syllabi. The Art/Music sects are a joke. The interdisciplinary test is the big gotch'ya, follow his guide.

Be prepared to spend hours outside of class on take-home tests. They average 50-80 questions ea. The catch is: it's over the material, but yet not. You have to print out & disect his [very subjective and detailed] "notes and questions". Be proactive about interdisciplinary tests. Gather info as you go. They will jump up & bite you; graded harshly.

worst teacher in GRU. the worst class and he has tests every week avg 70 questions and two 14 page papers to write. thats just the english part!!!! courseload is ridiculous for a class no one wants to take. he puts most of the ppl in class to sleep if they aren't doing the weekly test.

Print out the tests and bring them to class. I can not stress this enough. His lectures are nothing but test questions. Test every single week, but if you bring the test printed they are super easy. His grading on papers is a little ridiculous. But he is not overbearing.

He's passionate about literature, but very dry and boring during lecture. He gives out very specific, long, detailed notes online, but basically reads from them during class. Weekly take home tests are open book and curved against the highest grade. Pretty lax on attendance and being late. Hard class to get an A, lot of work required.

I don't know why people don't like him. He is CRYSTAL clear of what he expects. The test AND interdisciplinary are take home. It doesn't get better than that. He is brilliant and kind of funny but you have to have an open mind. I would take him again for 2002 but he only teaches at night.

The syllabus is extremely detailed, and throughout the semester you know EXACTLY what is expected of you. Weekly quizzes are OPEN-BOOK. In addition to class time, he provides a plethora of his notes and additional lectures on iTunes. He tends to be monotone, but has a brilliant mind! Learning from him was a pleasure.

I'm not sure why everyone is giving this man such bad reviews. Sure, he's a little out there, but he's is easy compared to other teachers. This is my second time taking this (had Hall before) and I'm doing just fine. Prinsky details everything for you, so if you fail it's YOUR fault and not his. He grades exceptionally fair too. He's really nice.

Prinksy is not that bad AT ALL. he isnt clear when he speaks but his is very helpful. he has everything he wants you to do on his website, every story you read he goes over, he never leaves you hanging which is very helpful when you have to write a paper. he also allows revisions, you can easily get an A in his class. do your work and read.

I laughed looking at all these ratings. The guy gives you a detailed syllabus explaining EXACTLY what he wants each day of the week. For each lecture he has pages and pages of notes and additional information on his website. He allows REWRITES on papers to regain lost points. Yes, he talks slowly and is monotonous but the guy knows his stuff. <~ A+

I hated every damn second of this man's class. Worst professor ever. If you care about your GPA at all, avoid him at all costs.
