Overall this class was pretty much self-taught. The class is 3 midterms and a final, and each is 25% of your grade. He likes to include personal anecdotes (some of which can be offensive) and personal stories to make economics more understandable. He gives you released exams to study off of, most of which he gets his questions from.

He is a very nice guy and is knowledgeable about macro, but he is not a good or organized teacher. The notes are all over the place, and he gives very little direction on how to apply them to solving problems. You have to teach all the concepts and application of concepts to yourself, and the class can be very stressful. I would stay away.

He is a very very very good professor!!! His class was very interesting, he even read newspapers in class haha. He will give you the past exams for practices which were very helpful for us. He likes chatting to students before or after class, he has many interesting personal stories!

He's not the worst, but he's not the best. He likes to share his opinion, which isn't great. You're only grades are the 4 exams. He says you don't need the textbook because he makes one for you, but I use the suggested textbook just as much as the other. You don't have to go to class because his notes are online, but they aren't always up to date.

Great professor and incredible asset for economics students as well. Will develop a personal "friendship" with you and help you along your path. Would recommend to anyone.

Norm is a fantastic professor and has done this class for many years. The only grades are exams, which I was worried about, but it turned out fine. He gives you a lot of great problems and questions in the course packet so you are prepared for the exams. If you study outside of class and don't wait until the last minute to study, you will do fine.

Professor Miller is the best. This class will not be a sloppy easy A but if you put in the work, there's no reason it should be difficult. No textbook needed, only a study packet that's like 10 bucks. Attendance not counted towards grade but going to class will help a lot. There's no graded homework. Only three tests and a final.

doesn't really teach in class, instead he rambles on about his personal life. class material isn't necessarily hard (i think i would've found 202 with another prof to be very easy) but there isn't a lot of structure to the course or to his lectures so it is very difficult to follow along. would not recommend.

He is a great guy with lots of funny stories. Your grade consists of 5 quizzes (drops the lowest 2) and 3 exams. His quizzes and exams are kind of tough but all the questions are just like the questions from his course packet he gives you. If you study those problems and go to class you should be fine.

I would not recommend him to anyone. He is everywhere with his teaching and is not clear with anything. He constantly goes off topic, he is horrible with communicating via anything, and is not a fair grader at all. I never understood anything that went on in this class and taught myself everything and still never did good. Do NOT take him.

Nice Guy, knowledgeable BUT utterly disastrous at teaching. Kinda like experiment on problems, no explanation, random tangent, confusing at your expense. Have fun self teaching the material and then taking an exam that to his admission, nearly impossible to get an A on, work your tail off for a B (if you can get past self-teach mode).

Miller wants his students to do well but I definitely had to work for my B in the class. The exams are definitely tricky. Many are calculations but there is no partial credit. If you go to class he will tell you what is important for the exam.

Dr. Miller makes economics really exciting. He always relates the difficult concepts to real-life scenarios. Exams are tricky, but he gives you everything you need for success in the course packet. I used an old version of the textbook to reread certain sections (which helped), but it isn't required at all.

DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! Norm uses a course packet that includes practice problems, quizzes and exams. Takes most of the questions on the exams straight from the practice problems but with new numbers. Keep up with hw and go to class, will make for an easy grade.

Norm is great. His lectures were entertaining and it was easy to pay attention. Don't bother buying the textbook, but do buy his course packet and take good notes. If you put effort in, it really is not a difficult class. He drops two quizzes and does tons of practice problems in class as well as has examples in the course packet.

Norm rocks! The course covers concepts hand-selected as important, so he knows what he wants to cover. Tests are more than fair, although difficult (3-4 difficult problems on each, but he gave us formulas). We took 5 quizzes but only the top 3 were graded. Little to no homework. He often tells amusing stories that make class feel less like class.

Miller is a very poor professor. Yes, his lectures are enjoyable and he tires to make things interesting, but his exams are extremely unfair. The only grades you receive in his class are four exams and three quizzes, and students are not rewarded for going to class or his office hours. The textbook is of no use and he does not respond to emails.

Hard professor to follow. Deviates a lot on tangents in class. Pretty funny, but hard grader. Exams and quizzes are really hard. He has a course packet which helps but you have to do literally every problem in there to be able to pass. Attendance mandatory to pass. Don't buy the textbook, he doesn't use it.

I would not buy book the notes Norman gives are clear and are fair game for quizes and tests. During letures he take the time to explain material. He will tell you what will be on quiz and test while he is leturing on his notes.. As long as you go to class and study you will do well in the course. Buy his course book it has practice problems!
