Tommy P is a heck of a guy. Knowledgeable as all get out. Class is tough, tests are 30 multiple choice. You really need to study because you have very little room for error. No final. Reason through things and you should be golden. Oh, and don't leave the room to go to the bathroom; he won't let you back in.

Without a doubt one of the toughest classes I've taken. First class in my 2.5 years I've had to read chapters in the book and do HW to understand material. He is intimidating in class but is awesome during office hours/after class. 3 exams w/ no final. If you keep up with the work and ask questions you'll be ok.

The class if difficult but if you study and keep up with the information you should be able to do well. Also he is very nice and is willing to help and answer any questions you might have especially in his office hours. He incorporates many stories and real life examples into class.

Took this class with him over the summer. Porcano is very straight forward and gets right to the point. Good prof, I'll take him for Tax when I get there (if he hasn't retired, he's due in a couple years)

Good prof. The content is overwhelming regardless of the professor, and I think Porcano does a great job explaining everything. Tests are difficult but fair... if you've had Staton for BLS, they both like to use confusing names like Dan Decedent and Bob Beneficiary. Beware, last exam is the toughest exam ever.

Gotta give it to the guy he knows his stuff in and out and so will you after taking his classes. Great proffesor who will MAKE you learn the information. Definatley one of the best proffesors I have ever had.

He is the BEST professor I have ever had. The topic is tough, but you WILL know it when you are finished. I HIGHLY recommend. Though I graduated a number of years ago, I WOULD consider any new hire to be ready for tax practice if they had Dr. P.

The tests weren't as bad as I had imagined, but still thorough. He's unlikable. The class is like law school where he'll call on you and you have to know the answer. He has no problem embarrassing people.
