You don't need a brain to get an A in this class! Don't even bother printing out his power points. Just show up to class and literally type out everything he says onto a doc, then use the shortcut to look for key words to answer his exams. Be specific as possible bc TAs grade differently. Everything is take-home! Lots of typing, but easiest A ever.

Prof. Alao is very well versed within the realm of Physiography and it shows through his teachings. The class is basically graded by 3 tests, one is a "quiz" the other is the midterm and the third is the final. GO TO HIS PRACTICE TEST DAYS. The final is almost identical to the practice final. Take this class, it is an easy A and you learn a lot.

His accent is heavy making the lectures very hard to understand. Very straightforward class but tends to jump around with different topics without notice which makes note taking and following the lecture very hard. Gives a lot of notes so if you're not a fast writer I really recommend that you type your notes. Take great notes and you'll do great.

Overall the class was very easy. Highly recommend you go to class because everything that'll be on the test is what he discusses in class, so you DON'T need to buy the textbook . Write down everything he says and you're assures an A. We had 1 quiz, 2 Midterms, and 1 final and everything was take home. Easy A.

This class is way too easy. The Midterm and Final are take home. Looking for a easy Cat. 3 GE? Take Geo5D. The materials in this class could have been presented in a more interesting manner. Also, DO NOT buy the text book. He never even mentioned its existence. As someone who is interested in this topic, this class was a let down.

the only con is that he has an accent that is sometimes hard to understand. he gives take home quizzes. his exams are open notes/open book. just write everything he says in class and you're good. don't need the book. as I've learned, his lectures are topics completely different from the book. easy a

He has a very strong accent but he repeats all important things 2X. He gives a summary of all key points at the end of lecture & sometimes before he begins the next class. Take home quizzes, midterms & his final is IDENTICAL to practices. Don't buy the book. Might be unsure of your grade in the beginning but he says "dont worry" & its true.

Honestly, he's not a bad at teaching. It's just he's got a strong accent and moves hella fast. His class is only graded by 1 quiz, 1 test, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Only the quiz was not take-home or open-book, but it was identical to the practice quiz he gave us. I took a ton of notes just to take his tests with 50% irrelevant questions.

He is one of my favorite professor here at UCI. Take home midterm, and quizzes. Open book, and notes for final. Important to attend lectures, and take notes in order to have answer for the exam, other than that it is an easy A.

Very heavy accent that is difficult to understand. Entire lecture is just him talking, no chance for participation or for a concept check to at least make sure we understand what's going on. Tests and quizzes contain material we never go over in class or are tiny details he says during lecture that no one thinks to study. Overall not a good prof.

Can't see anything written on board, marker game weak. Quizzes and midterms makes me reevaluate my will to live. Not even Google knows what he's asking for. Also accent hard to understand, I always miss words so Google literally everything. Also: missed two days of lectures: what language is he speaking? Conclusion: Take at own risk

The worst professor I've ever had in UC. He's always late at least 5 mins every class and even went to the final 10 mins late. He disrespect the students and not helpful during his office hours because he's not there. Final is open notes but too long, hard tricky 95 questions that u can't find the answer no where in the textbook or your notes.

This class is a really easy class if you take really good notes in class. He has an accent, talks really fast and rarely repeats information. So it's recommended to bring a laptop to class (if you type faster than writing). Some tests were take home. Other tests were open-note. Really easy class that knocks out 2 GEs. Recommended~

His accent is really hard to understand sometimes, and you really need to type/write your notes fast. He goes through the slides fast so I would take pictures of them. Takehome midterms and open book final but a lot of the info is hard to figure out even with Google, literally. But he's really nice

He is an okay professor, hard to understand because of accent. Attendance isn't mandatory but doesn't posts lectures online. Take home tests and quizzes are difficult but curves are very generous. A lot of material is based on memorization.

Take this class! Super Easy A! Take home exams and open note tests! Just come to class and you'll succeed. The two Russian TAs that I had are very generous as well. Definetely a GPA booster.
