I sort of liked Patterson. He seemed to care you passed his class, and gave you freedom to research a topic of your choice even if it was controversial. It is true he is hard. a lot of writing with little facilitation. Very objective and professional. better than most of the guys there.

Great Professor. Those who complain need to grow up before going to college, get used to the real world. He comes of as mean, but he is nice- do your work, and pay attention- or else what is the point of going. Tests are open notes, and easy if you read your notes and listen in class.

Strong lectures. Asks hard questions from students that are generations removed from himself and the background he tries to influence. Is very gruff and to the point, yet, long winded and remedial at times. Will only show you one side, and that's his tough side. Otherwise, don't back down, take your notes to the T, never miss a class or an assignment. Always show respect and you just might earn an "A". Ask questions, study hard, work hard and best of luck to all.

This is where you have to suck it up and do what he says. Don't argue, don't be late and follow instructions to the tee. If you don't, you are S.O.L. I personally think Patterson is great. I think that his demand for good writing only makes people better writers. Pretty much if you follow his instructions you will get an A. He is looking more for the ability to follow directions than for perfect papers
