Rick is a very good teacher.I learned so much in Photoshop.The negative comments posted about him come from those either not interested in the subject matter or those just looking to breeze through the class. He is very informative and definitely knows his stuff.I only wish I could have taken more classes with him prior to his retiring.goflyrick!

*you will learn a lot...if u like listening to a monotonous voice, talking about information and terms you've never heard of in your life, for 2 hours....i found it VERY hard to stay awake and keep attention.....i guess it's not REALLY his fault, that's just how he is.....if you already know graphic design, great 4 u! if not...GOD SPEED MY FRIEND!

Mr.Rice he is a Ok teacher. Honestly u kinda learn things but its just soo boring. Just turn in your projects in on time and you will pass the class. I feel like this class is a pretty easy A. Just kinda boring.

I didn't know anything about graphics when I went in to this class. Everyone else seemed like a seasoned pro and he chose them as his favorites. He demands that you be on time, be he, himself is often late and then will keep the class late too. Total B.S. Also, teaches from a book that will mean nothing to you. He knows his stuff though. Jerk.

I was not happy with his class but it honestly was not all his fault. I found that his class was really boring for me. We acctually spent time discussing what a video card was and to my astonishment over 80 % of the class was lost. Again, not his fault but this was not a GRAPHIC DESIGN class! Excellent instructor. His classes are easy as long as you enjoy graphic design and can take criticism. He's friendly, but he's also like a boss, which is good because he is very knowledgeble in his field. If you don't do well in his classes, you're in the wrong major.

Rick is an awesome teacher. If you have a bad experience with him, it is because you were unwilling to receive posotive criticism and/or unwilling to spend the time it takes to make REAL graphic design. His classes are not "fly-bys" but instead are intense detail-oriented.
