This is a logic class. I believe he is retiring but he is one of the nicest most helpful professors. I withdrew from the class because i fell way too far behind. When he says keep up or you will not catch up it is very true. He helped me choose whether or not to withdraw and really wanted me to stay. great guy and great teacher

Graduated in 1985 and went on to get MBA. Had philosophy 101 freshman year second semester. Ended up majoring because of Professor Herring. One of the smartest down to earth people in the world. Taught me patience and empathy.

overall it's a great class. there will be times your sides will hurt from laughter. about 1/4 classes are sort of boring, but are usually entertaining at some point. He also teaches you a lot about philosophy if you have even the slightest interest.

Great teacher and awesome for someone who could be my grandfather. Very helpful and very easy. He won't let you fail and is always there if you need help, even at 2 am. I love philosophy because of that man!!!

Great prof--entertaining, funny, slightly eccentric. Extremely helpful/dedicated--gladly tells students to call him at 3 AM if they have a question for him. Great job making hard stuff easy. Friendly, likable, talkative, approachable.
