For my class, there was an assignment due every class and a quiz every tuesday. The only big assignment was a paper which you slowly work on and build the entire semester. He says that a key to pass his course is to come to class and do the work.

most unfair grader I've ever had. Contradicts himself on a weekly basis. One week your paper is wordy the next it is vague. Even if you listen to all of his comments and suggestions you still can't get above an 87 on any paper.

Comment:

The grading criteria is the only thing to liked about Evolution, with weekly quizzes accompanied with 3 tests that can replace your quiz average if you do better on them and vice versa, same with the final replacing the test and quiz averages. It's a shame because I worked incredibly hard to get my grade but its contingent on your word choice.

Very, very, very difficult grader BUT, if you stick to the lab manual and pay attention to detail, you might be able to cop an A. It is an extremely easy course if you just put in a little bit of work. He may seem quirky at times you will find yourself focusing on himself as a person rather than what he's saying. So interesting.

He is one of those quirky but nice guys, and he means well. He gives a lot of busy work which is annoying, but he made it seem like he changes his curriculum from year to year so it has the potential to change. Invert zoo is a 200 level class and has way more work than his 300 orgo evo.

Sincerely, this professor tells you to do one thing and then expects another. You can go to him as many times as you want and he tells you that you have everything well done and then when you get your grade back it is never higher than a C+. Do not take this professor for lab he is the worst grader ever

Honestly speaking, he is nice but I has him for lab and he is the most picky and hard grader I have EVER had. He want perfection out of everything which is a ridiculous concept. To many group projects and when you do go for extra help, he is so vague that you can never do any better on the next assignment. never did better than a 75. DO NOT TAKE!

Gives too much work, busy work. There is always something for you to be doing. He is incomprehensible and unorganized. This man is in no position to be educating young people. There are lines of students begging for clarification going out the door every class. I will never take him again.

On the one hand, you have a cool guy teaching an interesting class that you might actually like. On the other hand, you have a really hard grader who gives tons of work. Go to his class ready to work like crazy. It's not work you can't handle as much as it is just "too much stuff." Also, be ready to ask LOTS of questions...And I mean LOTS.

he is a great guy, but the tests/quizzes are very hard even when they are take home. material is very straight forward, he uses powerpoints. the final will not hurt you, he has it so that if you get a lower grade on a section that it can be replaced by your test grade in that section.

Soo much work!! Lots of papers. one due every Tuesday and every otehr Thursday. You get the same grade on almost every assignment. Really nice guy, sorta funny at times. The lab isn't bad - you do your own thing. Intense writing though -- don;t take if you aren't a good writer and don't enjoy writing 2-3 papers a week...EVERYWEEK!!!

no quizes or tests in this class, but the workload was ridiculous! We were assigned a 10 page paper due every tuesday, and another 4 to 5 page paper due every other Thurs. This was just the regular amount of work in the class though! lab assignments and weekly busywork was included also. There was basically something to do for this class everyday!

Good Guy. Grades tough. Very Picky. Assignments can be tedious but he is open to suggestion. Eccentric sense of humor, but appreciated. I liked his course. Labs are awesome. Small lab grades help your grade a lot. I would recommend him but only if you're a science major.

He is clear in his lectures, doesn't mind you missing classes as long as you do your work. Grading is a little tough because he's a perfectionist, but overall pretty good.
