Class was never longer than 45 minutes. There was 1 hw assignment from the textbook a week. There were 2 tests, 6 "pop" quizzes (he told us which of the 2 class days we'd have it but it wasn't guaranteed we would get a quiz). No midterm, cumulative final. 2 papers and 1 more to drop your second lowest quiz grade because he already drops the lowest.

He doesn't need to go over the homework in class, but everyone would benefit from doing a practice problem after he went over a concept instead of just flipping through and reading off the slides. Also the papers should be more clearly outlined. I learned on my own. Txbk on reserve in lib, 3 tests total, quizzes once a week, class only 45mins

I never had a class over 50 minutes with professor kocher the entire semester. I liked this but if math comes especially hard for you then it might not be best. Also he gives 2 papers to write during the semester which aren't hard but idk I found it annoying writing a paper for a math class. Takes late homework for full credit. good class

This professor is not helpful at all whatsoever, the class was a teach yourself class basically due to the fact that he only reads off the powerpoints and does not teach any of the problems needed to pass the tests (which are extremely advanced). If it weren't for a tutor that I had to pay so much money for this semester, I would have failed

As someone who hates math, this was the best class I could have taken for my GE. I told him the grade I wanted in the class, which was a B+, and he told me exactly how to get there. I didn't start trying until the second half of the semester, but he was still willing to help. Highly recommend his stats class for GE!

This professor is truly amazing and is beyond caring. He prioritizes his class around quality and not quantity, on average class ends an hour early. He gives simplistic quizzes almost every week and only two tests plus a final, all of which are easy and provide anyone with enough time. I hope i can take him again, he is beyond funny and caring.

This is the first math class in my life that I've actually scored above a 70. Hes an amazing professor, hilarious, and understands that no one really wants to be there so he keeps his lectures short. You have a quiz eery week but its pretty easy and straightforward- only 4 questions. I recommend his class to anyone that has ever struggled with math

He's not much help when you dont understand something. Can be very condescending. I suck at math and the tutoring center as the only thing that saved me. No in class practice which many people need. Textbook wasnt touched in class but appeared on quizzes and tests. Do not take if you severely suck at math

I've never had a professor so aware that they're teaching a GE class. Stats and Public Policy was something I failed with another teacher, but Kocher made it a breeze. He gets you're not passionate about math, or you'd be in a more difficult math class, so he does everything he can to give you chances to improve your grade. Loves to laugh.

He is a great math teacher with a sense of humor. I did not mind attending class once. He also ends class early almost every time which is awesome. I highly recommend him as a teacher. Suny New Paltz is lucky to have such a great professor working for them.

Great professor! Funny and fair. Is helpful and reliable. Tests are fair. Assigns a couple of papers, but lets you choose what to write about and gives a good grade as long as he sees effort, and allows you to do an extra paper for extra credit. Will give you the benefit of the doubt if he sees that you are trying. Just be prepared for pop-quizzes.

tis class is terrible..dont take it..i had to withdraw bc i was failing..ive neve failed a class in my life
