I thought Pam was a great professor and really cared for her students. Pretty easy and simple grading criteria. Gives out plenty of extra credit. As long as you attend class and study for the tests, you will do fine.

She is really sweet, her classes are fun and simple. Most assignments are pretty easy, but tests are much more challenging and Pam at times attempts to trick students with wording. The class is good if you are tired of boring lectures, I mean her lectures are boring too, but we often play games and that is fun. She is super nice and funny.

She teaches like most of the education teachers teach, like they're talking to kids. Which makes sense because that's what they are teaching us to do, but it is pretty annoying to sit through. Her grading also doesn't make the most sense she docks points for small mistakes. She is very politically opinionated but over all she is a decent teacher.

i really appreciate how hard Professor Whalley tries every class. As someone who wants to be a teacher, I look up to her as a good example of how to be enthusiastic and engaging. I really respect this professor.

This professor consistently pushes her own political beliefs on her students. Pam told us we would be talking about an issue on the ballot, and that we should wait till after her lecture to vote, um excuse me? She doesn't give the facts of both sides, only the facts that support her opinion. She also has a terrible syllabus, and is not clear.

Professor Whalley stepped in half way through due to our professor leaving for medical reasons. Super accommodating, funny, nice and very clear. She is flexible, and helpful. Really knows economics, and is there for the students. She rocks

Pam is such a pleasure to be around. She wants you to learn and helps in ways that are fun, such as games or activities. For a three credit class, she assigned a lot of homework. The syllabus was a jumbled mess, and she wasn't very clear on assignments. Her final was easy. She was a great person, but a bit scattered as a teacher.

I took Pam for both 446 & 447 and she's a very nice person. You can tell she wants her students to succeed and will do her best to give out good grades. There are a lot of small busywork assignments which are super easy, but unfortunately not worth very many points. Ask questions and get involved, she seems to grade easier when she knows you well.

Overall good professor. I wish she would have fixed everything in her long syllabus packet before the quarter started to reduce sloppiness. It would have also of been nice to have all of our busy work be worth more points. There were something like 380 points in the class. 250 of them were exams. The time commitment for the other 130 was overkill.

Great professor! Always there for help and extremely nice. Because of her, I considered minoring in Econ. One of the best professors I've had at Western. Strongly recommended!

Avoid this professor. Seriously. Her "lectures" are really just tangents built upon tangents. She tries too hard to be funny and it gets old. She is unclear with her expectations for the class and changes due dates without proper notice. I've had a lot of classes at Western and this was honestly one of the worst classes I've ever taken. Don't do it

I absolutely loved Pam! For anyone going into teaching, you absolutely must take this class instead of the regular ECON207. I took 206 and hated Econ, but LOVED 447 with Pam. She's a great professor, loves her subject, is funny, and will help you to understand Econ and how to teach Econ in your future classrooms. Five stars for Pam!

I'm shocked at how people on this site, and in my class, say they like her class. Shocked. All she did was **lecture** about useless nonsense and equations. I have a 4.0 at Woodring and love the faculty there, but Pam's econ 447 = useless, irrelevant, boring. If anything, she taught me how not to teach: don't lecture; don't give busy work. Avoid.

I am 29 years old and this is the first class I have had where I actually, truly, seriously, learned nothing. And I wanted to learn. But the instructor is woefully incompetent.
