The material for this class was tough (Old English) and there was tons of homework. It was definitely do-able and you got the grade that you worked for. This professor is very nice and extremely intelligent and interesting. (And she graded really fairly!)Definitely take a class with her! I learned a lot!

Professor Belanoff is one of the best professors that we have on campus. She is incredibly intelligent, understanding, compassionate, and always willing to help. She expects a lot of work from her students, but she gives amazing notes and course packets.I would recommend her to anyone who is willing to work for their grade..

i didn't know hobbits existed. just kidding. I didn't learn jack in this class. tried, but still - we plowed thru every variation of the language like crazy. open book tests ar good, but even our class failed alot. teh bell curve at the end helped b/c if she didn't we all would have failed!

Prof Belanoff is a brilliant and respectable lady. She is very competent and knows her subject very well. She can be funny sometimes too. The work load is heavy, but if you seek help she is very friendly and helpful and so were the TAs. Recommend it for those who have the desire to learn.

History of the Englis Language. Very hard class. Lots to cover. Afraid to leave room to****for fear of missing something. She provides excellent printed notes to accompany text (which is dry as dust). Tests all open book; all very hard but fair. Material interesting & essential -- just a lot of it!
