I learned a lot in her class and she definitely keeps it on a professional level. She does a great job explaining things and the readings are actually enjoyable. She's very sweet and chill. You only have 3 papers, a group project, a midterm, and a final but it's all easy and she tells you what's on the tests. Her class is something to experience.

Comment:

I'm a Psych major and this was the first real English class I took and I loved it. Dr. Clark is one of my favorite professors I've ever had and the class was fun. She's very passionate about the topics. You definitely need to do the readings if you want to do well but they're interesting so it's not bad. Absolutely recommend taking her classes.

This course defiantly requires reading. You might be able to pass by spark noting the readings, but its honestly just easier to read the books. She is a harsh grader when it comes to essays but fair. Takes a while to get back essays because she comments so heavily on your work.

This class and Professor was AWESOME (Food and Identity). Definitely my favorite English seminar. I will never look at food in the same way, we learned soo much and the class became really close. It was easy to present ideas in front of everyone and the readings were interesting and informative. I enjoyed writing the final essay for this class.

Dr. Clark did an excellent job of bringing the class together; we now have a facebook page to keep in touch and exchange recipes. Her course (Food and Identity, and yes, this was a literary English class) was informative and really made people think about food, where it comes from, how it's prepared, and what it symbolizes.

Indeed, she likes to talk. But, the subject matter is very "racey" and sometimes needs delicate manovering to make points (which may account for boringness). Participation is key, and actually reading the text might not make the class so boring.

The class is SUPER BORING. She rambles on forever and none of it makes sense. She's very nice and very flexible but just extremely boring. Be prepared to fall asleep. She doesn't grade as easy as she used to, so watch out. Takes waaaay too long to grade papers, well over a month.
