The most boring class i've ever taken. If you read the book on your own lectures aren't needed.

She is an awful lecturer -- couldn't be drier. To her credit, she knows her stuff and does a good job of presenting arguments and playing devil's advocate. This was my first (and probably last) philosophy course, and things went at an easy, digestible pace. I skipped most of the lectures because all you had to do was read the book.

Another top notch philosophy professor at the University of Maryland. Dr Greenspan will challenge you to think, and to her immense credit, will LISTEN to you--but only if you can back up what you've got to say. Immense scope and breadth of knowledge in the field of ethics.

Comment:
The lecture was really boring, it was basically the teacher arguing her point while two or three students responded. The lecture was disorganized and I really learned almost nothing from the class. The way she grades, and wants, the papers is unique and hard to get used to.

She is very smart, and has an interesting sense of humor. It's hard to sit through her lectures at times as she speaks in a monotone voice, but the courses are generally interesting and she is flexible.

A single day did not go by without her bringing up the genocide of the jews. She disparaged students who were not interested in discussing the genocide.

She is very knowledgeable regarding philosophy of the emotions and reasons for action. She is very involved in the class discussions, and if you ask for it, she can be quite helpful.
