Comment:

Prof Gregory was a very nice person, but as for teaching I don't recommend if you're actually trying to learn C++. She grades REALLY easily sometimes it's shocking, but doesn't really explain how to do anything you need to know on the labs/projects so you're left to do your researching on your own. Also book was never used

As others have pointed out, I also noticed, she does not teach anything in the class. We had 2 classes for 2-hours and all she did was read the lecture from power point. So, 4-hours a week sitting in class just seeing her reading through slides. It would be okay with a lower level course, but for C++ part 2 ,Data Structure this is a tragedy. Yuck.

Comment:

Most of the tough hybrid courses at AACC are super bad and she complements Data Structure in C++, by being exceptionally bad. All she did in her class was read thorough power point slides, which she downloaded from the publisher's website. No explanation or practice anything. Her projects are quite difficult and her communication skill is bad.

Difficult class but I really learned a lot! Some students in class just wanted to show up and get a grade. If this is you, that's not going to work. Hey, the only way to learn this stuff is to practice! She was quick to answer questions and always available when I needed help.

One of the worst in AACC's Computer Science Dept. Does not do any hands on programming, or explain anything & relies on power point slides. Assigns project and homework, and expects you to know everything. AACC only has her to take this C++ class, my suggestion would be to go to a four year school and take someone who knows what they're talking.

She maybe a great instructor for lower level courses, but horrible in higher level C++ courses. She does not interact in her class, just read slide which she downloaded from the publisher. She assigns projects without a clear guidance or instruction. Her grading practices are horrible both on the test and the assignment. Just avoid her.

Greatness of an instructor comes, when they can present a tough subject in an easy manner. She makes a tough course like C++ so unbearably horrible, you wonder if she has adequate skill to teach it. She does not engage with the students and reads PPT slides for two hours. Avoid her at all cost.

All she does is read Power point slides that which she downloaded from the publisher's website. Hardly explain anything in C++. She make the subject sound so difficult that I strongly doubt that she has any knowledge in this. Avoid her.

Great teacher but carefully read your syllabus! The textbook for CSI149 is NOT REQUIRED (and its not a very good book either). Instruction is done using online sources. I read 10 chapters of the book only to find the test material had NOTHING to do with it. Be careful on her quizzes. READ your stuff & know what you're doing before attempting them!

Comment:

Intro to computers is a simple class. Most of us know a lot about computers as it is now but Prof Gregory makes the discussions and the work interesting. Great teacher.
