Very hard to do well in this class. She grades extremely tough and although she lets you redo papers, even when you correct what she tells you to you could still end up with the same grade. She may only give you three papers but she gives you a lot of busy work that doesnt really teach you anything and youll get points off and wont tell you why.

she is a nice old lady but she is hard of hearing and is very old-fashioned. it is a boring class and she told us that she doesn't believe its possible to get an "A". A "C" is average for her and she is very critical and can bring down your self esteem quickly if you think you are a good writer.

By far my favorite teacher at the U. Class is interesting and I have never learned so much from one person. She is always willing to help and all she wants is to see improvement. Hard not to get a good grade since there is so much extra credit. She is a tough grader but for a writing class there were only 3 papers. Must take!!

Knows her stuff about grammar, english, language, usage and writing. Very hard grader, but allows papers to be redone for a better grade. You may get discouraged at first with the initial grades, but you do indeed get better as time goes as long as you take it seriously. Remember, don't use the passive voice...ever.

She is the most helpful teacher I have ever had!! Lets you re do papers till you get a grade you want... this is good b/c she is a very tough grader, but I learned a lot. She def. helped me become much better writer! and she is very sweet!

take her if you can! you get a half letter grade boost if you go to all the classes, you get extra credit points for journal writing, she's a little tough in grading but i swear grades don't matter as long as you make the effort. great lady good teacher.. concerned with improving writing.. you have to be a moron to do bad in this class

Do the journal and attend every class and you get 12 points onto your final grade!! Sometimes can be very unclear. There's always homework, plus two 500 word themes and a 1500 word research paper. Tries to be helpful. Let's you re-write homework for a better grade, but she's a very hard grader!!!

Very sweet, helpful lady, a bit hard of hearing but that's what keeps class entertaining. Will help you with anything you need and allows you to rewrite any paper for a better grade. Slightly picky grader but helps you learn from your mistakes. Definately take her. DO THE JOURNAL, 11 free points.

Someone saud that you can get worse grades on rewrites...not true. You do have homework every night, but it's usually really easy. I recommend her 100%!
