Knows her stuff and knows her opinions. Not much daily homework and the topics are interesting but at times the discussions can get repetitive. 2 individual essays and a group project with 3 essays and a presentation. dont think ill take another one of her classes

Although opinionated and strong willed, Prof. Leavy is an extremely good teacher and brings a lot of insight to class. I have taken 4 classes with her and they have caused me to really look at things differently and question the "norm." She is also extremely helpful and makes seemingly boring classes interesting, such as Theory and Research Methods

I've had Professor Leavy for 3 classes and I gotta say I disagree with the majority of the comments on here. She is by far the best professor I've ever had. She's not **** at all- those comments are clearly from men who did not do well in her class and felt the need to come up with an excuse. Her classes aren't easy, but you learn a ton.

Sociologist of the Year must mean prof least interested in her classes, students who pay tuition & college that pays her salary. She is never, ever on campus. Dont waste your time.

Although Professor Leavy comes off as intimidating and strong minded, she was easily my favorite/best professor at Stonehill ever. You will learn a TON if that is what you're there for, and will be graded fairly if you put in the necessary work. TAKE HER CLASS.

Prof Leavy is AMAZING. I think everyone else is crazy. She is SO nice and helpful and absolutely hysterical. She's not as scary as she makes herself out to be and she understands that this is a requirement and no one really wants to be there. Three tests and two papers. The tests are easy - all memorization. She's very fair.

COMPLETE waste of time. She assigns the most random papers and doesn't explain how to do them at all. She does not care at all about her students, as she is perfectly comfortable failing half the class. Unless you have no choice whatsoever, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Had to take this course for my minor. Three tests and two essays at the end. Grades the essays pretty hard, but if you're alive in class then the tests aren't bad. She will tell you to read the two text books, you dont have to read Ritzer- she covers it all in class lectures. And go to class- she'll make you pay if you miss a class.
