I loved Libby, she was a wonderful professor! She really care about her students and their success both in and outside of her class. Material is tough to master and she expects the best. Course packets are dense so buy a BIG binder. Overall, a good class I learned A LOT!

Comment:

Good quality teacher, tough exams, lots of hw, lots of extra credit though. I did terrible on the exams (50's on each) but got 90 or above on each hw and did extra credit and ended up with a B. if your committed to it, you will do fine.

Nice person but difficult teacher. Exams are very hard and she teaches at an incredibly quick pace even though the students do not understand the material most of the time. Material is fairly complex by nature so that makes the course even more challenging.

She makes you buy the newest version of the book she wrote herself. The book costs $200. She just reads off her PPT slides which are a complete mess. She teaches at such a fast pace that it was impossible for me to keep up with. I ended up withdrawing from this class. My life improved a lot after I stopped attending her class.

My friends and I agree that she's a great woman, but the class is extremely hard. We have NO interest in accounting, but the STCM dept thinks it's necessary for some reason. Class is loud, large, and moves fast. Book is expensive and can't be resold or rented. Doesn't answer emails.

PLEASE READ. If you are your regular Ithaca student that enjoys life, partying, and simply having time to yourself this is not the professor for you. She is an awful teacher that expects way to much in the exams as well as in the quantity of the homework. In addition, there is a Financial report that is an on going problem through out the year.

Libby is a cool lady. I agree with the comment below that she gets a bad name..the class is going to be hard no matter who teaches it. Libby wants her students to learn and encourages people to get help. No final exam!!! End project - not hard if you keep up with the small assignments throughout the semester.

This class is extremely hard. if you can take financial accounting with another teach even if it is at a bad time, do it. She takes attendence everyday so you have to go to class. she wrote the book and teaches as if everyone knows as much as her, or atleast the smartest kids in the class. avoid this teacher, unless you would like a low GPA.

Watch out - she acts friendly, but she's the kind of teacher who requires the new version of a $170 book that she wrote herself, moves too quickly through difficult material, and gives so much work that her class alone should count as a 15 credit semester. Case in point: hw, quizzes, and group projects all due on the same day. Multiple times.
