Weekly homework and quizzes are insanely hard. She is a boring lecturer. If uhave not taken chemistry before then this class will be hell for you. Not only that, but her exams are insanely hard. She gives 0 partial credit. My friend lost 17% on a midterm because of 1 calculation mistake in a question. she pretends to be nice but isnt. STAY AWAY!!!

Do WHATEVER it takes to avoid Pam. Requires you to use her half-written textbook, which manages to INHIBIT learning due to the vast number of typos/mistakes. Exams don't reflect what is learned in class, making them nearly impossible to prepare for. Wouldn't even let a student retake an exam that he missed due to being HOSPITALIZED. Run. Just run.

Pam wrote the textbook, but can't get it published (probably b/c its incoherent, disorganized, and full of typos. That's a bit of foreshadowing for the lecture btw). Tests are much harder than homework and quizzes. Also tries to make jokes but its kind of sad sometimes. Just use Khan Academy and find lots of practice problems for the math stuff.

If you can avoid her, don't take her class! She is just awful. Super mean when you ask for help, expects you to be familiar with concepts you don't know, doesn't care about students. The Fall 2016 final was impossible, even the advisors said it seemed rigged. Seriously, if you have AP credit take it. Anything so you don't have to have her.

I never thought a professor could be bad enough to make my chosen field of study boring and miserable for me, but here we are! Avoid if possible, this class is so much work and it's preventing me from enjoying all of my other classes.

Pam is nice some days and mean other days. She takes lots of points off in tests. Ridiculously unreasonable final exam . Only plus side is having one exam dropped.

Lectures are monotonous but she moves through material quickly. Recitation and self study is the only way to learn the material if you don't know it already. 3 hard exams over the semester, then an even harder final.

This class will only be easy if you have taken chemistry. If not get ready to study allot. The test gets progressively harder and the lectures are not productive. Pam overcomplicates everything. She tries to be nice but comes out mean.

Talks monotonously for the entire lecture, good luck staying awake. Would get offended when someone would ask a question even though she asked if anyone had any questions.

Pam really is so nice. She gives out prizes whenever you answer anything. She does take off a lot of points on tests, and her final had one problem that was designed for nobody to get correct. But I'm pretty sure she bumps everyone up grade-wise, because everyone got a better one than they earned.

If you have done chemistry before, you'll be okay. If not, you'll have some trouble. She rushes things and does not explain harder concepts thoroughly in my opinion. She's inconsistent with her problems and on the final she throws in questions we had never seen before. I didn't particularly enjoy her class.

Comment:
Pam is tough. She assigns problems that tend to be significantly easier than exam questions and grades pretty harshly. However, she is extremely interested in her students' success and will help out a lot if you go to office hours. The class is tough in a sense that her quizzes and exams are difficult, but its still possible to get a good grade

What to say about Pam... She's terribly odd and talks in circles that make no sense. She takes bad grades personally and will make you feel demoralized after you fail, which, if you don't know chemistry going into the class, you will. She doesn't curve. BUT I have to say that she tries and cares. Use the eBook and PPs. Still, get out if you can.

The class is easy if know chem going into the class, if not it will take work to get a good grade. It is fairly easy to get a good grade but beware the final, the final she gave us was 20x harder than the practices she gave us and destroyed grades.

Pam is a weird teacher. she tries to be nice but she's not. she doesn't explain things very well. she doesn't give partial credit on problems. sometimes she gives make-up quizzes because the class average is REALLY LOW (F)and they are much harder than the regular quizzes. the ONLY good thing is that she posts her lectures online.

PAM is extremely enthusiastic and tries to make the class fun with prizes and cool demonstrations. If you already understand chemistry and don't really need to be taking it, you'll love her class. If you need things explained clearly, you may struggle. Her lectures are disorganized and don't necessarily help you do the homework or pass the quizzes.
