P Willey is one of the best professors I had in my 4 years at Chico State. His enthusiasm and knowledge on the material made the class a breeze for me. He legit called me and congratulated me for getting the second highest grade in the class on a test. The material is not easy, lot of memorization but he is a phenomenal professor. Sadly retiring.

He is deeply passionate about anthropology, which is refreshing. He quizzes very often and you need to show up. We use the lab manual a lot but he's very clear on what you need to know. Great teacher, but you have to put in a lot of time for the exams and quizzes if you want an A.

I really liked Prof. Willey and thought he was entertaining and goofy. He cares a lot about Anthropology and that comes across in his teaching to the students. Anthro came easy to me so I didn't have to study much to pass, but if it doesn't come easy to you be prepared to spend at least a couple days before exam days to do well.

P. Willey is dynamic, extremely entertaining and has a way of making information stick in your head. But he is tough, you will have to work, and you will need to show what you have learned to get a good grade. I considered myself an Anthro expert, and he showed me that I truly am not. But class was always fun, entertaining and I learned so much!

P. Willey is honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. I loved Anthropology before taking his class, I loved it even more afterward. i took the lower division physical anthropology class and he taught so well that I was able to challenge the upper division class and pass with flying colors. If you want to learn, this is the class for you.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Absolutely amazing teacher. Energetic and clearly loves what he does. Lectures go by quickly and takes time to answer questions. Labs can be quite challenging but very fulfilling. For tests study ALL materials given including prior tests (he posts it all). Take him and work hard. You won't regret it!!!!

He told the T.A he didn't think I was going to do well on the test I do not like his way teaching and is not helpful in clarity of ANYTHING!!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Pete is the sole reason I almost changed my major to Anthropology. I've never met anyone who loves their job and area of study so much. Tests are challenging but heavily curved; I did way better than I expected. You will learn a lot and be in love with this man by the end of the semester. Recommended!

Class was always interesting. He is a real character, he makes lectures fun. If you pay attention to his lectures and read the book, the tests are understanding but NOT EASY you have to study. There isn't any homework and lectures are rarely cancelled. I enjoyed this class and the lab with it too.

This professor is excellent! This class is a LOT of work but it is worth it. P. Willey is so enthusiastic about all the material, it makes the lectures just that much more interesting. For studying, just follow the outlines that he's posted and attend ALL the lectures. I really recommend this professor.

A very good professor. He absolutely loves anthropology, and really tries to get his students excited about it as well. You have a lot of information to memorize for the exams, but if you go to all the classes and take good notes you should do well.

Maybe my favorite professor of all time, definitely top three. Course material was difficult, but P. Willey made both lectures and labs engaging. Only lectures, lab quizzes, and exams. If you study and go to class you'll be fine. Loved going to lectures and labs. Great professor and great guy, highly, highly recommended.

I am shocked at the bad reviews I'm seeing on here. What you should know about Willey: A. his tests are hard, you DO have to study, but he curves them a LOT so you're usually ok B. He's the best anthro professor you could ask for. He loves his job and it shows, and he got me excited about this subject. TAKE HIM and work hard. You won't regret it.

Horrible teacher. Do not take this class. Does not talk about the materials in classes and the exams are extremely hard. All he cares about is making sure the average in the class is a C reflects well on him.

Great class. The lab is really great especially if you are a hands on learner so being able to hold and work with the bones and things was really helpful. His lectures are amazing and really fun. Tests a hard but if you go to his office hours he is really helpful. And dont be surprised if he sees you on campus and comes up to you and talks to you!
